My daughter and I visited this Establishment yesterday around 11:20am. It took about an hour and a half to receive our food, other patrons even came to our table to say "we've gotten our food and you still haven't" we patiently waited still. Finally our food came, no complaints about the actual food...here is my ISSUE...when my daughter took the tab to the counter to pay, she politely asked "Can we get any discount for having to wait over an hour and a half?"...the guy at the register didn't know how to adjust the price, so he called for our waitress by the name of Lisa! She came over, snatched the receipt from the guy and said in a very audible and irritable manner "JUST GIVE THEM $4 OFF! I SWEAR, SOME PEOPLE!!" and proceeded to walk back off. My daughter stares at her in disbelief and says "Dang, so you have an attitude??" LIsa replies "I'VE TRIED TO BE NOTHING BUT NICE TO THESE PEOPLE!"(still very annoyed with us) Mind you, we never said anything about her personality, just the wait..so my daughter just stands there still looking at her as she shuffled back behind the counter! Lisa turns around and gives her the elementary school(WHAT YOU LOOKING AT ME FOR neck rolling gesture back towards her! I immediately got my daughter and my 10mo old grandbaby, and we left! I decided to leave the premises before "Mama Bear" kicked in and told this rude a* waitress about herself..I decided to take the high road, but I was infuriated that she would speak to her customers in that manner! Despicable!! I hadn't been there in two years because of a previous issue, but decided to give them another...

There is always a twinge of concern coupled with a compelling curiosity when you approach a restaurant and see a sign announcing that “we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone”, and adjacent to the door is a bench with an advertisement for a local bail bondsman on it (Big Mitch is his name, should you need his services). The restaurant, which I am almost certain is a converted Waffle House (if that tells you anything), is connected to a seedy flop house, and, as such, both look pretty run down. But the food inside was really good! Cheeseburger was excellent, fries were good, and onion rings were cooked perfectly but were a little bland. Service was adequate as was the value. No fountain drinks—canned sodas only, FYI. Evidently, a lot of countrified locals frequent this place, and their banter with each other and the...

Timberland used to be a very favorite of ours for breakfast anytime and dinner. However the last few times we have been, the service was not as it should be. It took a while to get our drinks ordered, and then took a while for the food. We understand that it is made to order, however like I said, it seems to be a longer wait for food and drink refills, than it has in the past. We didn't get our food at the same time the last few times we were there. Maybe better organizing of tickets and orders would be helpful. Needless to say we haven't been back in over a month due to poor service the last few times we were there. We found another establishment, in Roxboro, that was very similar with similar prices. Hopefully we will return to Timberland and it will be better. Maybe a visit during non-peak times will provide...

What a great meal! Highly recommend the country fried steak, fried okra & squash, and fresh baked cookies. The service was excellent, the helpings were plentiful, and I loved the old diner atmosphere. You will not find better food for less! Our waitress was super sweet & attentive and gave my son a fresh baked huge cookie because his birthday was the next day! The outside is very deceiving and we second guessed stopping here but I am so glad we did! Would most definitely stop here again!

Update March 2025: Still great food and service at reasonable prices🥳A great little diner with very friendly service, reasonable prices and large portions. The standout for me is how personable the servers are. Quick, delicious comfort food. Everything we ordered was very tasty. Our coffees were constantly replenished and we were checked on frequently for any needs. We will definitely return and I highly recommend checking the place out.

Hands down the best breakfast in Roxboro. I had French toast and bacon. But I watched the cook for 30 min. Legit everything was amazing looking! The staff was extremely friendly and turned tables fast!
