We tried Taco City y Mas not long after they opened, so keep in mind this was about two months ago and things may have improved since then. The spot itself is small but nicely set up with cute plates and a simple layout that works well for families.

When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was the handwritten sign explaining that this is not fast food and that orders take at least 15 to 20 minutes because everything is made to order. While I understand the reasoning, the way it was written felt a little off-putting and defensive right out of the gate.

We ordered a mix of tacos, appetizers, and kids’ plates. The tacos were genuinely good and flavorful, easily the best part of the meal. The appetizers were just okay and not something I would recommend spending extra on. The kids’ plates were decent and did the job, but nothing that stood out.

Service was fine and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time given the made-to-order approach. Overall, Taco City y Mas has potential and is worth trying if you are in the area and want good tacos, but I would probably skip the appetizers and go straight for the main plates. I am curious to see how they settle in as they get more...

So first, our most favorite cultural cuisine is Mexican. I heard they had good tacos from my teenage son a few months back so my husband and I tried it out last night. To my surprise, EVERYTHING was delicious! Upon walking in, it smells CLEAN!! A plus in my book!! Literally, the only flaw was a few flying critters that came in hungry too (ā˜ŗļø) and our ribeye tacos were a little overcooked. Besides that, I absolutely loved my experience here. We ordered the Thursday Tortas special, 3 tacos plate, the Madi Poppers and the Enchiladas plate. We sampled it all! All of this food was $45 and some change!! The wait wasn’t bad at all. Now, everything was fresh, just the right amount of spices and love went into every dish. I really think someone’s abuela is back there cooking. We tasted the love and culture in the food. So that was GREATLY appreciated. I felt like a piece of Dallas has come to little Royse City. The music and the atmosphere was refreshing to me. I would recommend to ANYONE and I am definitely going back! Thank you for the great service at the counter and from the...

I've been wanting to stop by ever since seeing the box truck in the parking lot which happens to be very close to where I live. Once I learned they finally opened, I stopped by to give them a try.

Inside was nice and spacious with decent amount of seating with several TVs. My wife ordered the Ribeye a la Mexicana which came with refried beans and I ordered 1 x Pastor, 1 x Barbacoa, and 1 x Ribeye flour tacos.

The pastor taco was yummy. Real good flavor and the salsa compliments it well. The ribeye plate and the ribeye taco was very bland. Very little seasoning if at all. Same with the barbacoa taco. Meat had a little bit of fat on them which I like but no flavor whatsoever. The protein of the tacos should already have flavor. I shouldn't have to drench the taco with lime and salsa to make it taste good which the salsa didn't help much in this case.

I won't say I'll never go back. I just don't plan on visiting anytime soon especially when there are better options a little...

I was making homemade enchiladas and after cooking the chili con carne from scratch, shredding my cheese, chopping onion, heating my oven and preparing to heat my oil for the tortillas to assemble the enchiladas I realized the tortillas I thought were in my pantry were not. I REALLY didn’t want to go to Walmart so as I pulled in I saw Taco City. Called and asked if they just sell tortillas lol YES it cost a little more than a store bought pack of too many tortillas BUT it took the extra prep work step out of me having to heat the oil for the tortillas to roll my enchiladas so it was definitely well worth the money of a cpl extra bucks. The tortillas were perfect. No cracking, crumbling or tearing as I rolled the enchiladas. And as promised next time I make enchiladas I’ll bring yall some. Bonus that my house is literally only a Cpl min away lol Thanks guys!!! Sincerely the crazy girl who called while turning into the lot 🤣🤣🤣
