Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in Ruidoso

Highly unfriendly cashier on Sunday decided to swing around the card reader for a tip after lacking any semblance of personality. When I noted she got my order wrong and was charging me double for my sandwich, she said it’s because I said I wanted a big sandwich. I did, but apparently they have a big super-secret sandwich that’s not even on the menu anywhere at all, and she charged me for that. I said how am I supposed to know that? She said she thought I knew. How would I know? It wasn’t on the menu. Anywhere. Zero attempt at being like “I’m sorry, I should have clarified.” Instead, she acted like it was my fault as if I’m a psychic. I’m one person, why did she think I wanted some “giant” sandwich as if I was ordering for an office? The charge went through and I just canceled the entire order. Totally unfriendly, stressed-out person who shouldn’t be working as a cashier. Never going again—for sure—and I just moved here and liked the first time I went when someone different was taking my order. I could have easily been converted to a once-a-week customer....

We order our food and then after we paid we found out they didn't have some items so we had to wait 10 minutes for a manager to become available to give use a refund on those items. Then we had to wait another 15 minutes for our food. While waiting we noticed some very unhygienic practices, like the people working not having their hair pulled back properly, some employees looked like they hadn't washed their clothes in a while, also the person dealing with the food to hand to customers was also mopping the floor and never washed her hands, then i witnessed one of the employees grab a rag from off of the top of the trash can and wipe the counter down where all the food is being placed. After all this we finally got our food and get back to our hotel room to open our food and the flat bread we ordered, one was cut but the other wasn't and it was burnt on the bottom. So needless to say it was not a very pleasant experience. Oh and we tried to call corporate just tel be told to call back...

Yummy! As always this chain restaurant is amazing. With cinna bon in the same building it smells so good. Unfortunately they ran out of pizzas just two people ahead of us in line. But the great thing is, thier sandwiches as to die for. I love the way the bread is toasted. I want to make special note of the young man (about 12 years old I would think), he was fast on getting our order, knew exactly how to put it in the register, was a pro at the credit card machine and probably the most polite person I have encountered in forever. When businesses are struggling for help, jobs everywhere, it's a 12 yr old that was the best employee A nice little gal (8 or 9) was always wiping down tables and picking up trash.
