My first trip here was probably 25 years ago or more, heading to Fayetteville for a Hogs basketball game with my dad. He'd been here many times before and wanted to introduce me to one of his favorites. The walls were covered random "stuff", from Razorback paraphernalia to kitschy signs to hunting/fishing accessories. Maybe a couple of small airplanes, too? It was awesome, especially for a kid. When we'd go, it would be full of other Hog fans on their way to the game as well. My dad would always get the "double double" (double meat and cheese), and I'd get the single with cheese. We'd usually get a 1/2 order of fries (a full order is basically a small grocery bag... way too much for us). I'd get a Coke. Fast forward a good bit, and my wife and I were introducing our 9 year old daughter to Whatta-Burger on our way to Fayetteville for a football game. The food was as good as I remembered it being 25 years ago. Burger was solid, buns toasted. Fries were delicious. Milkshakes we're good too. Walls are a much less busy now, mostly just fishing lures and some rods/reels. It was a lot of fun bringing our daughter here, following the same path as my first visit. It won't be the...

I am giving whatta-burger 2 stars simply because of how good they used to be. This used to be one of the best places to get a burger in the state of Arkansas. Now, it is one of the worst. I hope people don’t drive from far away thinking they are getting that delicious, juicy burger that only whatta-burger could serve, not to mention the mound of fries you would get that were so good you couldn’t stop eating them. The last 3 times I have been, I have left completely disappointed and I doubt I will ever go back again. I could have gone to McDonald’s and gotten a better burger than the one I ate today. It’s over cooked and dry while the bun is completely soggy. The fries are overcooked as well and hard to chew. The only thing good from my order today was my vanilla shake and my water. I kept coming back thinking that maybe they just had a bad day and overcooked the food. But 3 times is non-performance. So long old friend, I’m really going to miss you. But you are not the same place you used to be. I’m gonna stick with CJs...

This place is a favorite of the locals. It is clean and you're almost guaranteed to get full on whatever you order. They also offer student discounts, which is a plus. Unfortunately the burger and fries aren't really anything to write home about. Everything was cooked perfectly, but the taste of the burger was so similar to Sonic's burgers, I'm almost convinced they use the same meat. The fries weren't bad but they weren't great either. The bacon though...the bacon is phenomenal. Also, the burgers are large, about the size of a Super Sonic Cheeseburger, which also led me to be a bit skeptical. Overall, the price of two cheeseburgers with bacon was a bit over $18. That's about the same, maybe cheaper than a normal sit in restaurant for a meal for two. Overall, it was good, but nothing super special. You'll spend the same price for the same burger at a fast food restaurant and get it sooner. The only thing you'd miss out on is the...

This place is really going downhill. I’ve always preferred CJ’s but they aren’t open on Sunday’s. One issue that’s become relevant to me is their seating. The only option they have is booth seating. There’s no real wheelchair accessibility in how the booths are set up. The biggest problem with the booths are that they are one solid piece...my husband, who is on the heavier side, can’t even fit. Not only is this embarrassing for him, it’s a major inconvenience because we had to take our food to our vehicle and eat. Second, the food quality is sad. The lettuce was wilted and brown, the tomatoes were soggy, and the buns were stale. My daughters hamburger didn’t cover half her bun. I realize that the patties shrink after cooking, but how many patties do they cook a day? They should know how big to make them to compensate for that. It’s really a shame...Whatta-Burger used to be a popular destination for out of towners.

I like the atmosphere and customer service was on point. It was almost closing time so they gave us some free desserts! That was nice. It took them about 5 to 8 minutes to get our food ready. I ordered the double-double and I got full. The only thing I didn't like much was their onion rings. I am a fan of onion rings and they tasted plain in my opinion. Maybe a little more salt? Breading? On the bright side, their fries were really good. Fresh and hot. My wife order a spicy chicken sandwich, fries and water. I ordered a double double, onion rings, and a Coke. And we paid 29 dollars. I recommend this place, pretty chill and decent food. I'll upload a photo of the update prices since the most recent menu photo is 2 years old. Merry Christmas!
