NEW UPDATE 9/15: Well, I went back because I love the food, but I don't think I'll ever go back to the Huntley location! I went through the drive thru for my chicken sandwich, soda and fries. I had to wait for the food in spot #1, which is fine. But, when I tried my soda I realized it was totally flat?! I went inside and said, the soda is flat. The response I got from Sarah, the cashier, was "We don't have any carbonation." I then asked, "Why would you sell me a soda if you knew there was no carbonation?" She said, "Some people drink it like that".....WHAT?? SERIOUSLY? I can't believe that I heard that response. I can't believe she would be taking people's money when she knows there's no carbonation. I told her that she should tell people so they are aware. This is ridiculous. She was snotty and unapologetic. I am done with this location. It's been problem after problem. I enjoy the food too much to stop going. After talking to the manager, Aly, she advised to try the new location on Randall, which I will happily do. I won't waste my time or money at the Huntley location. I've been enjoying beef shack for some time. I really like the chicken sandwiches and frequently buy for myself and family. However, there's usually always something wrong with the order. Either something is missing or tomatoes included when they shouldn't. I've called a few times and had my food credited, but after today i don't think i can keep going. Today i ordered my usual chicken sandwich, no tomato, add mozzarella and an extra side of chipotle mayo. I ask for extra because there's usually barely any on there. My total today was $19. It was +$1 for mozz, +$1 for extra chipotle mayo, and extra for cheese for fries. What bugs me is that i have to order the extra because there's next to none on the sandwich. See my picture. I'm tired of bad service, incorrect meals and now super expensive costs. Ugh, bummed because...

When we go, we just get their “homemade fries” . We used to go to the one in ELGIN. The “homemade fries” were always a reason to return. That was the reason we started going to the Huntley location. First time we went it was about 30 minutes before closing. The fries were warm at best. They were hard and dry . The staff were young kids that really seemed to care less if we were there or not. That seems to be the attitude most places these days. We reasoned, “well, they were fries made and the end of the day, and maybe it’s not a good time to go there.” The next time we went to the Huntley location we went at 6 pm and the same results. We returned a week later and tried the fries at 1 pm. They were of the great quality (lunch time fries move quickly) we came to enjoy and expect in Elgin. Finally we were happy with their product. At “BEST” this location is of good quality at certain times of the day. My wife tried their $1.00 shakes on a Saturday and was very pleased. I went there this evening 09/14/19 and was just going to pick up a shake and was told...”we are out of shakes.” Wish the quality of the product was constant and something you could rely on. “Hit or Miss Shack” would be a better name...

Not bad but really nothing special or above the other restaurants serving beef sandwiches. The beef was tasty and the roll was soft and fresh. I was a bit let down because the description of the "Cheesy Beef" sandwich was "legendary beef smothered in cheese". I received a beef sandwich with a top layer of mozzarella cheese melted on top. The description of the sandwich had me expecting something more. The sandwich was good but really it was ordinary. Service was not rude or disrespectful but the order taker and the person handing me the order were not friendly but rather just going through the motions. No cheerful greeting, no smiles just strictly business. Lastly the restroom although not filthy it had been sometime since it had been cleaned. I felt this chain was created to be somewhat unique for this type of restaurant but missed the mark with uninterested staffing and lack of cleaning. To be fair I will try another location in the future. To sum it up if you're hungry the food is okay but there may be a better choice as there are many restaurants...

Kinda disappointed in this place. I finally had the chance to stop by. The beef was pretty good, not bad but average for a beef sandwich. I had the cheesy beef on garlic bread. I ordered the mini thinking it was at least a 6 inch but it was actually 2.5 inches, which was ridiculous, something that should be on a kids menu, and it was $9. Wow. I couldn’t taste the garlic either, maybe they forgot? Hot giardiniera was an up charge and I didn’t get any oil in it, just dry vegetables. The tables weren’t wiped and really greasy so I had to wipe mine with a napkin. Anyhow, I’m starting to see a pattern developing with corporate restaurants, everything is tiny and prices are enormous. It boggles my mind that people still pay so much for so little. I gave this place 2 stars because of the tiny portion for the price but overall service was ok, atmosphere was ok. I won’t be coming back, I’d rather patronize a small local place where I know I will get a good portion for a reasonable price and support my community.

First off I went to beef shack today and I’m not impressed! The lady couldn’t even take my order right … she put hot and sweet peppers.. so then they fix it and she was so incredibly rude no apologies. I couldn’t believe I asked for raw onions got charged a dollar for a few dices!!!!!!!!!!!! She’s like and my manager needs the other sandwich back I’m like I ate out of it … yikes I thought about it…. They probably need the rest of my sandwich for the mini italian sausage hahahaha! I’m sorry but poor customer service. Got my order wrong not but once but twice. My mouth is on fire and now I have to settle for ramen noodles: 20 dollars for an italian sausage, shake, and fries what a joke. Taking my business elsewhere and letting ppl know!! Not to mention can’t eat the fries bc they dumped salt on them.
