Panera Bread — Restaurant in Rutland Township

It was so good!!! The food was so fresh!! It was a great location for a lunch date. This was our first time visiting Panera, and we will definitely be coming back again!! Here's what we ordered.

The tomato soup in the bread bowl. Wow!! Definitely #1 for my soup list.

I also ordered the creamy chicken and wild rice soup in the bread bowl... loved the tomato soup better 😋

The salads I ordered were the Mediterranean Chicken Greens with Grains and the Strawberry Poopyseed Chicken Salad!!

I loved the fresh cut strawberries, blueberries, pineapple slices, and mandarin slices!! It's so fresh and so summery!! 😍

I liked the Mediterranean salad because of the hummus and the onions, I feel like it could have used some black olives, maybe, as a flavor of the Mediterranean... 🤷‍♀️ it was ok...

So the strawberry poppyseed chicken salad is #1 for me so far in salads.

Next up were the sandwiches 🥪.... we ordered :

Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt and Smokehouse BBQ Chicken. Both are warm sandwiches, so they were toasted to perfection. The flavors of both sandwiches were amazing!

• note* this order was for 2 people * My tips for next time would be.. don't order (whole or full size amounts) it was too much size wise for a lunch date. I would choose the half size options for both the salad and the sandwiches. They have a You Pick 2 option... check it out... The soup in a bread bowl was perfect in taste and size! Not too much, and not too little. And they give you the bread that was in the "bowl" to dip into the soup .... soooo gooood!!!

The moment I walked in I felt the way I was being stared at by an employee was nasty, I brused it off. While waiting for my food, this same employee went around offering free samples to everyone- including the table next to me and completely passed me. I ignored it again, I then went to the restroom and there was no hand soap so i kindly asked this particular employee if she can provide me with hand soap or hand sanitizer. She looked at me, huffed and puffed, and said " I can't stop doing what I'm doing to do that for you" not in a nice way. I said wow, thank you and walked away pretty surprised at what was happening. Another employee brought our smoothies and asked if everything was okay, I said no what is the managers name. She said Amy, I said I'd like to speak with her. Amy came by I told her what happened and all I got was- I will speak to her. First time ever in my town I felt racially profiled. It was my first time to this location...

Have dined in twice, at different times, to give them a fair chance. Both instances had the same results. Their ordering system is not very intuitive. This includes using a human to place an order. If you order with a pad you will have to wait until the pickup order location decides to give you your drink (the people behind the counter are too busy to bother). A (note single) sandwich will take ~15 minutes to be ready. One time I dined in, it was super busy, so 15 minutes seem ok, the other, it was dead and still same time, so that is about what you will wait. The food was good. Not going out of my way to get it good, but something other than burgers/tacos good. I would definitely NOT recommend drive thru, with as slow as it is. The service definitely tilts towards being better if you are an older white woman. That seems to be the clientele that runs the place and whom will be the largest group of customers.
