Came to hear a local band play on a Friday night. I was pleasantly surprised with the sleek, matte black remodel of the interior. It's beautiful and intimate without being embarrassed by the character inherent in the age of the property.
The bar and stage are separated by a pair of glass doors which muffle the sound to the bar area if you need to take a breather from the full force of the music (although you shouldn't expect perfect quiet; they are just glass after all.)

Read moreGreat place to check out certain genres of music. It's mostly considered a punk venue but it does diverge from time to time. The Cafe serves great fries and other bar food. They have wine "cocktails" that are in the 20-22% range but they do not serve hard alcohol here. They have beer on tap and in the bottle as well as cider. The room where music is played is intimate and can be a bit loud, so bring ear plugs. If you're into supporting local businesses and local bands, patronize this establishment. However, the other two people that could not finish dinner after witnessing metal in my food did not get comped. Technically it's a music venue, with a small bar in front with a couple of tables to sit down and eat food . Not a typical eatery, not so great customer service comes with a territory I guess. I will be back and I will be trying Indian fry bread. Yum. Don't know why I didn't order it...
