I've decided to adjust my general rule that The further from the border you get the worse the Mexican food gets. After eating a multiple Ertos and Ertos shoot offs well into Northern California I may simply add the addendum that Erto's are an exception.
Lost in a divorce Carolina's was taken by the wife and had it's name changed to Carolinas. 24 hours is a plus. This place was a happening place for years and then the area got run down and as the crime died off people now return with frequency, but usually late at night.
The entire store it kind of elevated on this sort of mount. The drive thru has a ramp up and down so it's kind of odd if your wheelbase is long like a truck. You may not sit level. A few darts here and there and your back on the 99 via the hidden freeway entrance.
Carne asada fries, California burrito's things normally associated with it's originating area Southern California have migrated. The fries were a little soggy, the tortillas were soft. The salsa fresca was a little bland and so was the hot sauce. The meat is well seasoned, ever so slightly dry, but that can be tolerated due to the late night order. Guacamole was a little too creamy, could use more lemon and garlic. The cheese was properly melted and kept the whole thing together. I would ask for guac and crema fresca on the California as fires and meat are great, but it's really more about the carne asada fries, but in portable form. The green sauce was way better than the standard red.
I did not give them enough credit and was pleasantly surprised at the flavor. My usual NorCal Mexican food experiences were severely lacking. You've done well Sacramento, much better than...

Took our order thru the drive thru and when we asked to add stuff to our quesadilla he stated ur would cost extra-no problem! We were willing to pay! We did pay, however when we got home offff course None of the xtra stuff we paid for was there! And our other order of rolled taquitos did not have shredded lettuce-strangeā¦.tipped them and everything. But what made it worse was when we called back the order taker got on the phone and said Oh yes is the quesadilla order with all the stuff? When I replied yes that we didnāt receive any of the extra, he cut me off loudly admitting over and over that -heās aware of that!- then demanded I bring the food back if I wanted my refund? What!? U just admitted u knew my order was incorrect but I have to prove it wasnāt made right, waste more of my time and gas, and now my partner isnāt supposed to eat because u canāt d ur job correctly? When I asked when the manager was in my reposnse was I donāt know? Then I asked for the name-again it was a rude disrespectful response-look dude-u work in customer service-figure it out and start speaking to customers more professionally! Despite the ugly attitude and the unwillingness to help me unless I was gonna come back at 1am with my guys quesadilla to get a refund? Obviously my man was hungry and ate what we were given, but again I just wanted what I paid forā-and to be treated like itās my fault, and I need to be inconvenienced because u guys didnāt provide me with what I paid for us some pooor...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was treated rudely by Maria. She previously got my order wrong and when I called she told me I could go back next time and I would get a credit for the item that was incorrect. No apologies for inconvenience but thatās fine.
When I went back a few days later I ordered more food and asked about that 5.95 credit and she refused and tried to give me the food from last visit instead of the credit. I declined and reminded her of what she offered. She immediately became agitated and raised her voice a bit telling me that I must have a problem with my comprehension. I couldnāt believe how disrespectful she was. She finally agreed to give a credit but continued to insult and verbally harass me. She completely mixed my words around and denied her actions.
We have been customers there on and off for four years so I was shocked by her behavior. I donāt feel my business is appreciated and her treatment towards me was unnecessary.
To me, the smart thing for her to do would have been to apologize for my incorrect order and be appreciative that I came back and spent more money, especially when she did not even provide the full $5.95 credit I was due.
I think itās best for us to not return because no one deserves to be treated that way by some cranky lady who is...
