Dr. Bennett, just really, how can you live with yourself every day? How on earth do you extort people's money. I am grieving right now, and won't say as much as I am going to in days to come, but you and your entire team's negligence and inability to diagnose something not only so painfully obvious to 2 other Veterinarians, but was mentioned by me when I brought him him for you to check out.
To go so far as take my money, provide a full clean bill of health, and then my beloved pet is euthanized 4 days later is incomprehensible. My dog is not dead because of you, but my dog was in EXRUCIATING PAIN THAT YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED FURTHER, and ran or scheduled some obviously needed tests when we were there.
The gross negligence to not diagnose something 2 other Vets visually determined within one minute of my dog coming into their clinic (prior to testing/confirmation). You are a sadist, or incompetent.
You made a very ill, confused animal with a neurological disorder in excruciating pain with obvious severe osteoarthritis; an animal who couldn't sit, move or lay down and with tears in his eyes was left in a crate from 9:30 am until 4:17 pm (the soonest they would let me get him) without the ability to urinate or defecate, or sit down or lay down without assistance left to suffer in extreme pain. In 7 hours not one person thought to assist this poor baby, so he could lie down, but just ignored him the entire day. An exam takes how long??
Explain the rationale that an animal sit caged without food or water the entire day? Even with food/water, what is the reason you need to herd these animals like cattle? This is not the sensitivity I need in a Vet office. If pet owners love animals like I do, rethink a corporate Vet Clinic, especially Banfield on Crocker.
For this lame office not to not call me knowing my dog was suffering so badly, but to leave him cramped and standing the entire day. That is so disturbing on all levels. If I have known this was the practice, he would never have been left there to be tortured in this inhumane way. Instead of being checked out, then the team calling me to come get him.
They expect a dog to pee in tiny cage they're crammed into all day. Poor guy held it all day, then peed a full 2 minutes when I got him outside. Housebroken dogs are expected to pee on a pad and are not taken out to stretch the ENTIRE DAY. He was hurting, he was wincing so badly and was forced to stand that way in pain for several hours with what I found out later; to be with skin that if touched felt like a car hit him. Dr. Bennet sent my dog out worse than when he went in.
To not have exceptions for those animals that clearly cannot endure your herding mentality way of processing animals like a slaughter house. In and out like a freaking revolving door. When I went to pick my darling up, not knowing how badly he was treated, right then in front of me, my dog screamed in pain when you touched him, and you merely said, "oh I guess he is sick of me today".
Not one of you thought to yourselves, hmmm...something isn't right. For that reason, there isn't one of you who should be in any type of medical field. How did you not see the extensive obvious neuro damage, and 10 freaking obvious signs something was wrong. Signs I brought to your attention and you still did not address.
If any of you use the office, please rethink your decision. Animals are locked up and neglected all day, for 5 minutes with your animals. If I had not been asked to go back and get my dog from the crate because he was in pain, I would not have known how badly he suffered and how crammed he was not being able to lay down for 7 hours due to the arthritis they didn't tell me he had.
Even a mentally challenged person could see the dog needed help to lay down. You are all pieces of feces. I don't understand the great reviews; I cannot be the only one on the planet whose dog was neglected at Banfield. Animals lovers you've been warned. And Dr. Bennett, the CA Board Of Veterinary Medicine has...
Read moreKaren, Dillan (who cares on spelling) and Lauren each uniquely and equally contributed to my negative experience working with Banfield. The interactions I had with Lauren on Saturday and now Dylan and Karen on Monday morning have been rude, demeaning and disrespectful. The two had the audacity to tell Karen I was being rude and throwing her name around / demanding special treatment. So Karen took it upon herself with ZERO evidence to tell my sister (who works at another location) that I need to treat her staff with âdecencyâ. Listen the call is coming from inside the house. I canât prove that I was nice to Dillon because it was in person but I was incredibly patient with her and clarified the tests I was trying to run several times. I also asked her to confirm that she got the email from the ER visit on Saturday but she refused and got angry when I asked if I could resend just in case. She was objectively rude to me while I remained nice and calm with her. Hereâs the thing though, you can pull the call with Lauren. I am not confused by any means that I nor anyone else calling in couldnât matter any less. That much was very apparent.
Karen: Yes, I did ask if I could speak to you but that was only after Laurenâs response to my cat not eating for 2 days was to set an appointment for Tuesday when I was calling on Saturday. I knew they could set up drop off appointments and I was going to ask for a managers exception due to the emergent scenario. I only used your name because I have met you and worked with you in the recent past where I brought another cat to your location⌠as a paying customer. I urge you to remember that people are at your mercy and if you do decide to be terrible to your customers, try your best to at least get your facts straight prior to scolding us. The reviews reflect I am not the only one that has had a negative experience with the service quality here. When I went back to pick up my pet Dyllan started getting angry with her own co-workers repeating angrily âpick up for Paulâ (my cat) 3 times then the person standing next to her (who was absolutely wonderful. Very kind and helpful) said âIâm helping with Paul you can stop calling back thereâ. Dilan proved in real time she was the problem which is insane. Youâd think sheâd at least try to mask it after pretending to be a victim.
Karen, you and I spoke on the phone where you basically said you refused my phone call on Saturday because you didnât know who I was and apologized that I found your staff to be rude but I never would have said anything about the staff being rude if you didnât try to scold me for doing something I never did. Also thatâs not a real apology.
You acted like I was looking for a handout or demanding special treatment when I was making a very normal request in the veterinary world. Iâve also always followed the standard rules and always paid full price for my visits and the wellness plans.
Now the reason why I was going to ask for your help is because Paul failed the standard test: Is the animal eating? Drinking? Going to the bathroom?
If the answer is no to one or multiple of those questions- it should be taken with at least some degree of seriousness by you and your front desk staff. Those are typically life threatening symptoms.
Ultimately what it seems like to me is the problem lies not within your customers but the people you have chosen to work your front desk Lauren and Dylen. Making a snap judgement without doing any research of your own followed by giving me feedback through my sister as if I was an employee of yours and not actually apologizing for that behavior is what solidified my decision to write this review.
I would also like to remind you that people donât generally call in when theyâre having a great time - this was an incredibly stressful event already made worse by my experience with...
Read moreNothing against the front desk staff. But for the medical care my dog got here I would give this as one star. No idea why it happened this way but it started a few years ago. After we waited five weeks for the biopsy results the dr at the time did incorrectly report my dog âwas about to die soonâ, this proved incorrect, and was not what the biopsy result actually said⌠at all. Then earlier this year my dog was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis by Vca medical pet Hospital here in Sacramento. When I brought my dog in to this location in January he had breathing problems from this and being stressed. I told them what it was, the doctor did not seem to care what the actual condition was, and to paraphrase, that he was in severe pain and should be put down very soon. They then gave him the shot called lĂbrela for his bicep tenusynuvitis, without heeding the fact that laryngeal paralysis is a neurological symptom, and this shot has been known to accelerate neurological problems!
I donât blame these vets for my dog getting old and having problems per se, but when they did not listen to what he had been diagnosed with by respected veterinarians and did not consider the counter-indications for the shot theyâre giving, my dog went steeply downhill after three of these lĂbrela shots and the condition got worse with each shot. They didnât ask for the vca records. They didnât write down his condition. Iâm sure you wonât find the condition he had in his record there. Combined with the fact that I told them twice that it was laryngeal paralysis, they literally could not care less- she did not have time for us, but they did seem overworked. Pretty terrible. These arenât the assistants Iâm talking about either, but am talking about the main doctor we...
