Panda House — Restaurant in Sacramento

Ordered the House Special Chow Mein to go. It was a good sized order. The meat was cooked just right and I was happy to discover plenty of vegetables hidden in the noodles. As with most restaurant food, it was a little on the salty side but still a very pleasant tasting meal. It was definitely worth it for the price.

First, the good. Food service was quick, food quantity was enormous, and piping hot from the kitchen. Lunch special comes with a cream cheese wonton and an egg roll. You get high marks on quantity.

Now the bad. The decor is non existent, a decently maintained garage has more atmosphere. The Hunan chicken lacked flavor. The actual chicken was abysmally bad quality, mostly fat, and rubbery. You offer chow mein and fried rice as options, but charged a "substitution fee" to get half & half.

This place have really lowered their standards of food quality lately. Dont know if the cook has changed or what. Got the Mongolian beef combo, meat was chewy and slight gamey...rice was dry and old. Second plate was orange chicken, I think I had one piece of chicken and the rest fried dough, again rice was old and dry. For how much was spent, I'd hate to say it, but go 5 blocks down the road and get panda express...at least there you'll get consistent cooked food.
