The food was amazing. We had the burger steak, sinigang wings, tocilog, calamansi juice and halo-halo. Each of them was delicious and filling. Although for the price, maybe a bigger size patty for the burger steak would be ideal but it is such a great comfort food, it really felt like a big ol warm hug. The tocino was perfectly cooked and marinated. I would buy this by the pound if i could! The calamansi juice was so refreshing especially for a 100° day. The sinigang wings was insaaane, perfectly crispy and tangy. We waited 20ish minutes for the food to arrive, which isn't too bad.
This is only their soft opening. The service was excellent, they were attentive and welcoming and you can tell that everything was made from scratch and made with love. There aren't a lot of central and easily accessible Filipino restaurants in Sacramento, i'm so glad we have one in the heart of the city that is not in the turo-turo style (cafeteria style). My little filipino heart is happy. Salamat for an incredible dining...
Read moreI found Spoon and Fork while browsing on Google and decided to stop in—and I’m glad I did. The location is perfect, especially for us state workers downtown. You can easily hop on the 51 bus or take the southbound light rail and be there in minutes. It’s just a short walk east of the Broadway Light Rail station—no more than two city blocks.
As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed right away and had my order taken, by who I believe was Joanne, without any wait. I ordered the lechon kawali and a cold calamansi juice—both hit the spot. The food came out fast, hot, and flavorful. I realized the man working there (Ray) was the same person I had a good convo with back on the 4th of July when they had the food truck out. He and his wife were both running the restaurant, and you can really tell they put their heart into it.
Great service, good people, and bomb Filipino food. Definitely worth the trip—easy to get to, and even easier...
Read moreI was ecstatic to learn that a new Filipino restaurant opened up in Broadway. I ordered their lechon kawali, lumpiang shanghai and halo-halo. For the lechon kawali, the pork was cooked to perfection - meat was tender and the skin was divinely crispy. It was also perfectly salted and seasoned and mixed well with the vinegar and their homemade achara. Their lechon kawali was the most unpretentious yet absolutely best tasting lechon kawali I’ve ever had here in the Sacramento. As for the lumpia, it tasted like my mom’s, which for me speaks highly of it 😊 The halo-halo was pretty good as well. In fact my mom, who shared it with me, said that it felt like being back in the Philippines. It was creamy and milky. I do wish to have the option to get this served in a bigger cup Their menu is simple, offering only traditional Filipino comfort food but one that is done right and with exceptional taste! I’ll...
