1st time try their chicken. My friend recommended me the boiled chicken from them. The very special yellow skin vietnamese chicken style. I had online order thru their toasttab site. Very quick to be picked up. Food was really good. So so good.
Half "bone-in" chicken with 3 different sauces 4/5: Chicken with skin on . The meat's so soft and juicy. Goes well with the ginger green onion topping. I really like it. They also include some side broth. However i have to cut out one star because it seems like they forgot all the sauce which comes with my chicken order as mentioned on the menu.
side of shrimp chip -$1 1/5: just normal. A little burn and not shrimp flavors. It's just bland crispy chips! It will be perfect if they use the better shrimp chips.
side of innards - $1 4/5: varieties of chicken organs. Still has some smell you can recognize immediately when open the box. But it's cooked very well and soft, easy to chew. Very friendly, nice customer service 5/5. The girl at the counter who handled me the food was so kind. I asked her that why they don't sell chilli sauce anymore. She knew i like chili oil so got me some extra. I did not do dine in and very quick check around the restaurant interior. Nice clean store. Comfortable atmosphere for next time dine in. Overall, good experience for to go order except the missing 3 sauces i want to try. Food is good as expected. Highly recommended for trying the real Vietnamese food style.
The restaurant locates in the very busy area with many other good restaurants. If you are around elk grove. Give it a try. I wish they will open the one in closer to my house so i can go more often. It’s 45 mins away. But for sure i will stop by again whenever i come to elk grove.
Last thing - With missing item, i was not completely satisfied with my order however i want to leave 5 stars still to support the business and more ppl know how the...
Read moreI want to start off by saying I had the #1 and it was good. I actually liked it. So why the 2 stars. I'll start with the big one, the server pulled trash that was stuck to his shoe off and threw it away then continued to serve us our food without changing his gloves or washing his hands. He's a young guy but it's not a real excuse. Also I'm pretty sure other staff saw him do it and didn't say anything or do anything until another table pointed out that they saw him do it, which kinda feels shady. Even afterwards they didn't tell us it happened or offer to exchange the bowl which is basically just feigning ignorance. Second my cup had a piece of food still on it and a thick oily fingerprint on the rim. New cup was clean but these things make me question how clean anything else is. The only reason they didn't get 1 star for service was because the other server was very friendly and attentive.
If you're asking if you should eat here, I can't tell you no, but ask yourself if you value a good bowl of noodles more than your health. Again, I'm not saying, you shouldn't eat here, but if you can get past the potential sanitary issues, it's a solid bowl of noodles. If not for those two things that happened, I'd come back... but...
Read moreThe previous restaurant was way better than this place.
Tried this place again with some co workers thinking the outcome would be different, same review I gave before but even worse.
The servers are young, rude and impolite. Delivering the food while not once ever coming to check on our table.
Food was bland you can get better tasting Pho and Hannah Chicken elsewhere, I’m talking about to many restaurants other than this place makes good food.
Sides: I always order the fried dough sticks with my pho as I like dipping it into the broth, but the fried dough sticks were over cooked and hard that you literally have to have the fried dough sticks swimming in the brother to soften for at least 3 minutes.
The table we were seated at still had someone’s lunch on the table and seat so if your okay with chicken chunks and liquids over your seat and table then come!
Overall: Terrible overall you can go to spots like Sit - Lo, Pho Anh Do, or other places that serve really tasty and rich broth tasting eateries than Saigon 88.
