🌟 First Visit to The Grotto in Rio Linda 🌟

The Grotto has only been open for about six months, and I finally had the chance to visit—and I’m glad I did! The food options were eclectic and flavorful, with dishes seasoned to perfection. While I do wish the food had been served a bit warmer, the taste absolutely made up for it. The wine selection was impressive, and my glass was a great pairing with the meal.

The staff were especially friendly and welcoming—genuine service with a smile always makes a difference. I also appreciated the positive quotes on the walls; they added a nice, uplifting touch to the atmosphere. However, the faux floral centerpieces felt a bit out of sync with the rest of the decor.

I did notice some water spots on the glassware and utensils—not a deal breaker, just something that stood out. That said, the overall experience was lovely. I’m already planning to come back, especially to catch one of their live entertainment nights. I might even try their wine tasting event!

Wow! This place was amazing from the moment we walked in the door on a Saturday around 2:30pm. My family and I were greeted by a nice guy who ultimately was a server/busser/greeter. We were quickly seated and greeted by another woman who was a server. The atmosphere was awesome with live music (weekend), the artist even took requests! The decor was lovely, although my one critique is that if you're sitting in the half booth/half table section, the seating sits so low which leaves the table nearly at chest level- an awkward position, especially with the chairs across from it seated high up. Anyway, the food was absolutely amazing. Between my family and I every item ordered was delicious. The service was extremely tentative. Overall, we are so excited to have an exciting new restaurant close by. We recently visited The Grotto, and it’s safe to say we’re already looking forward to coming back! The restaurant has such a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying their incredible Italian and American comfort food. My husband ordered the prime rib dip, and it was flavorful and tender with the perfect amount of au jus. I had the chicken club, which was packed with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. Our son tried the classic flatbread pizza with garlic sauce, and he absolutely loved it—it was a hit for the whole family! We couldn’t leave without trying dessert, so we shared the crème brûlée, and it was the perfect ending to our meal. The creamy texture and caramelized top were absolutely divine.
