Jumbo Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Safford

Ok so as soon as we enter there are food tins half full of stagnant water. It's takes almost 5 minutes to be seated even though only 1 other family was eating at the time. Now that we have been sat at our booth we were brought our sodas they were flat the ice was nice though. We ordered chicken lo mein, vegi lo mein, shrimp lo mein, fried rice, fried wontons, and steak on a stick. So in all we ordered 4 main dishes and 2 appetizers. The wontons tasted frozen and chewy I couldn't tell what kind of meat I was even eating the only good part about that appetizer was the sweet red sauce that accompanied it. The steak sticks were bland and boring at best. Now on to the main dishes they came out at random times I got mine then 10 minutes later my fiance got hers and so on and so on. By the time everyone had there food my shrip lo mein was cold and the shrimps were chewy. Now on to the taste.........the only things I could taste in my lo mein was salt and a char on my noodles again I'd like to say my noodles were slightly burnt and the other dishes weren't better the other 2 lo mein dishes weren't burnt but were both overly salty the vegetables in the veg lo mein were squishy and soggy. The fried rice was as to be expected pretty good but as far as fried rice went it was a 4 out of 10, no green onion as far as I could see very little seasoning and I'm almost certain there was no msg. So after this sub par experience you would think at max I'd be paying 50 dollars wich is already too much. Too my surprise I now owe this restaurant around a 100 dollars not including the tip wich I feel obligated to give. All in all they need to either increases the standards they have in there kitchens or reduce there prices by at least 40 percent I will never be returning unless a serious change is made. We have eaten take out from this place many times, and the food was delicious every time.

Today, we went into the restaurant for a sit down dinner for the first time ever since moving to Safford. The second we came in the door, we were asked what we wanted to drink, and I wasn’t sure yet, as we didn’t even have menus yet or hadn’t even sat down yet. The host/server made a comment that “ of course you are going to be one of those” under her breath as we walked by. We weren’t given menus. And then she asked for our drink order again. And left. One of us had to walk up to the register ask for menus, and we weren’t given a children’s menu option. I feel like I had no choice but to get the buffet because of the way the interaction went, which I did not want.

I took my son to the bathroom and it was very dirty and smelled really badly of mold, to the point my son almost wouldn’t use it.

The walls around the table were very dirty and covered in food and other stains. This isn’t one days worth of grime either.

We ended up having someone else come up and clear the table, she was very nice and personable, and is the only reason this isn’t a 1 star review.

I got the chicken teriyaki skewers from the buffet and the chicken was cold, I’m not sure if the heater was broken in that area or not.

I used to work in restaurants and I am all for giving places a second chance. And understanding when things go wrong. So I hate to say, we probably won’t...

First off, during the few hours that there is a buffet option, it is VERY small and for LUNCH TIME ONLY. It says "lunch buffet until 3:00" on the advertising, but it isn't well advertised anywhere that there is NO buffet at all during the rest of the hours. It's not just that the lunch buffet is different, as at many buffets - it's the ONLY buffet and there's no buffet after that.

My group stopped here while passing through, thinking we could get some Chinese buffet and go, but we came after 3:00 and discovered after coming inside that there was only dine in, order-from-menu. No buffet. We decided to stay and eat there anyway as everyone was already out of the vehicles. But for us that was a mistake to stay, because the food takes absolutely forever to come out. It's a small town, so maybe this is intended to be a place where you come, sit down, visit for a while, linger over the food, and spend time hanging out together in the pretty little dining room. For that, it would have been a 5-star stop. But we had to be somewhere else in 60 minutes, so the 45 minute wait for food meant we had to get to-go boxes along with the food once it came out.

Overall, the restaurant, people, and food were nice. The food really was good. It just was not the restaurant we should have stopped at when we were in a hurry to get some pre-cooked food and go. The advertising of a "Chinese buffet" is not entirely accurate, and that mismatch was a...
