Salty Heifer Grill — Restaurant in Safford

The good: The guacamole bacon cheeseburger was fabulous, some of the best Guacamole I’ve ever had. The tots were perfect. The fries were an Amazing texture and had a gentle seasoning on them! They can describe as kinda like steak fries, only not as big, so the inside was a much better texture than normal steak fries. Service was just fine, it took about as long as you would expect for such quality food.

The bad: I rang a doorbell and ordered my food at the door. I stood outside that door and then I was handed my food at the same door. Normal counter service. BUT, when it was time to pay I tapped my card and was unfortunately greeted with that super awkward and forced “add a tip” screen. However, unlike most places where you can select no tip and move on, I had to sit there and try to figure out how to move on and pay for my meal. There was no clear way to move on from this screen .So I selected “other” then I was met with a keypad of numbers. I hit 0 and the device did not accept 0. At the point the kind lady had been holding this device for a while, and I’m hunched over trying to read the screen. It’s so unnecessarily awkward. I’m simply trying to figure out how to pay the agreed upon amount when I ordered, so I can move on with my day. She finally said “you have been waiting out here a while, here let me help you”. She then pulled the device away and did something and the ordeal was finally over. I paid and was able to leave.

Look, I’ll tip at a restaurant where I’m being served by a waiter or waitress. But for normal counter service, no thanks food in general is already expensive enough, please don’t try to force me to tip you. I could see this type of forced uncomfortable situation causing anxiety in...

we were looking for something to eat on our trek from gilbert. 5 stars...huh. Yup, it's that good. I had the wicked burger and tots and my wife has the fresh prince baked potato. both were awesome. I will probably get the bacon guac burger next time and my wife is looking forward to the catfish. service was fast and welcoming. we continued up 191 to show low and during our drive the salty heifer came up multiple times in conversation, it was that memorable and good. if it's your first time here it may take a moment to figure out what is going on....but don't give up. when in doubt ring the door bell. and as a bonus the restrooms are really...

Saturdays we buy lunch for 8 to 12 people and it can be a daunting task! Cheryl and her staff made the ordering process really simple. We called in and asked for our food to be ready at a set time. She didn't hesitate and she labeled each container so there were no mix-ups! The food was tasty and the servings were very generous!! It's become more and more difficult to get GOOD food and GOOD service here in The Gila Valley. The Salty Heifer is definitely doing their part to change that!! Our business will order lunch again and now I am anxious to go there in the evening and enjoy the patio!! Great...
