I ordered the fried pork chop dinner with yams, mac & cheese, and cornbread, and let me tell you, those pork chops were seasoned to perfection! 😮‍💨 The entire meal was delicious, but I do have a couple of suggestions. The yams were perfectly seasoned and tasty, though I couldn’t tell if they were fresh or from a can. The mac & cheese was good, but I think a different recipe and a baked version would really take it to the next level. As for the cornbread, I’d suggest switching to a Jiffy or cornmeal base—it tasted more like cake than cornbread.

That said, I will absolutely be returning and highly recommend this spot! It's definitely the best soul food in Saginaw—I'd rank it #1. Sarah’s Café Dinner is an absolute gem! Their soul food Sundays are nothing short of spectacular—comfort food at its finest. Every dish is bursting with flavor and feels like it’s made with love. The fried chicken is perfectly crispy, the mac and cheese is creamy and rich, and the collard greens are seasoned to perfection.

Don’t even get me started on the desserts! From their decadent cakes to the most amazing cakes I’ve ever had, highly suggest the caramel pound cake, as well as the multiple mini cakes Kenya makes herself! every bite is heavenly. You can tell they put real care into everything they serve.

My wife and I discovered this gem by stumbling across a post on social media, someone asked about local soul food and 90% of the comments mentioned this restaurant. We decided to give it a try. I ordered the fried whole wings, Mac and cheese, greens and yams. My wife order fried pork chops with the same sides. For dessert we had yellow cake with chocolate icing and sweet potatoe pie.
