Friday we decided to take a trip to the island in search of some good pizza once again. Our destination was the Bronx House of Pizza Anastasia. We found this restaurant in a shopping plaza that was under construction. Parking was plentiful in the plaza's lot. The front of the restaurant had scaffolding in front, but we were able to enter easily. Inside the restaurant was plain with many booths. We sat in one of the booths, and a cheerful waitress promptly greeted us. I ordered the basic mozzarella pizza. Vicki ordered a barbecue chicken pie. Both came in a reasonable amount of time. My pizza had a thin crust and was very tasty! I dare say it was among the most delicious pizza I've had in Florida. Vicki ate most of her barbecue pizza and thought it was great. Our bill was very reasonable. We thought Bronx House in Anastasia was a hidden gem of a pizzeria!

I'm still in shock. This was far and away the best deep dish pizza I've ever had. I grew up just a half mile from the original Buddy's Rendezvous in Detroit and it was pretty much the best and only pizza I knew. But not any more. The owner of Bronx House must be from Detroit, because he knows his competition very, very well and blew the sox off of Buddy's! The crust was amazingly light, but still crispy and the cheese blend was terrific. And FINALLY, a pizza with the right amount of sauce on it, and have to say the sauce sure tasted fresh. Wish you would open one in the Detroit area, but for now we will have our mouths watering until our next visit to St. Augustine Beach in September. Can't wait!

I recently dined at Bronx House Pizza for the first time. Conveniently located in a strip mall with ample parking, it's just minutes from the beach. Our server provided good service, despite a brief delay towards the end with drink refills and the check. She was friendly and pleasant throughout. As a pizza enthusiast, I had to try a classic cheese slice. It was good! The garlic rolls were a highlight – we loved them! For our main pizza, we chose the Detroit-style, which allowed the sauce to shine. The pizza was fantastic, baked to perfection! My son enjoyed the kids' penne with butter. Overall, the food was excellent, and I'd definitely return to this Bronx House Pizza location!

UPDATE: The manager, Joe, reached out and offered to remake the order fresh himself. I gotta say the taste and quality of the remake was a HUGE improvement over the first attempt. The garlic knots were especially scrumptious! Soooo good. I certainly appreciate the manager making it right and based on that I’d go back again. I just hope they either retrain the person who botched the food the first time or let them go so they don’t keep messing up customers’ food. Big kudos to Joe for going above and beyond to correct the issues.

Ordered their Detroit style pizza via DoorDash after being told they only deliver to the island and don’t go over the bridge nor does their other location deliver here. I swear this has to be the worst pizza I’ve ever had!!! I don’t know how they managed to mess up the crust as bad as they did but it wasn’t just overcooked and dry it was tough! Like take the teeth out of my mouth tough! Did they pre make the crust and leave it sitting out all day? Never had anything like that before and I’ve had some bad pizzas in my day. I could’ve gotten better from Pizza Hut for half the price. For the $60 I paid I expected a whole watermelon lot more! The garlic knots weren’t much better. Let’s just say I saw why they were buy one get one free after one bite. Guess I’ll be throwing the rest of my $60 cardboard crust pizza meal in the trash. It’s an expensive lesson to learn not to eat at establishments like this again. As a side note, I have no idea why people think food is so good in this town. Most places I’ve tried are terrible. St. A has some learning to do! Go to Orlando and have them teach y’all how to cook....

Cannot tell you how the food is because I did not get that far. I just came by the Bronx pizza around 3:20 pm on Wednesday 3/26. We were on our way from Flagler to st. Augustine when we pulled over for Jersey mikes and instead were happily surprised to see a little pizza place in the same plaza so we stopped in. We were the only customers in the establishment when we walked in and three people working behind the counter. We walked to the front because we figured we ordered up there and then sat to eat and the girl informed us that we should take a seat if we’re dining in, so we did. She said she’d bring menus over to us and we waited several minutes while they gossiped behind the counter before we eventually left because no menus had been brought to us and this was intended to be a quick stop for pizza who even need a menu. It didn’t feel welcoming at all if anything it felt like we had interrupted their private time as we were the only customers there. I was looking forward to trying this place but the staff seems to care more about carrying on their conversation than dropping a menu off to the only guests in the building. I work in the service industry and it felt very nasty as I would never leave a guest waiting like that while I carry on a conversation ten feet away from them. Very...

Walked in to the unattended hostess stand. Two teenage “employees engaged in conversation standing behind it. They both looked at me and continued their conversation. That’s not the worst - the manager was seated at a high top behind them on his laptop did nothing. Luckily, a busy waitress came to the hostess stand to retrieve something, greeted me and pointed me in the direction of the “to go” pick up area. Retrieved my order - large pizza and two appetizers and head to the front door. Now, there are four teenage “employees” blocking the isle and oblivious to their surroundings. They finally move their useless selves and I approach the front door which is ridiculously hard to open. I could not manage so a nice young man kindly opened it for me. There is a side door that goes directly to the parking lot but it is kept locked. In summary, the manager needs to pay attention to what’s going on and provide his young employees with further training and maybe a few rules to follow. Also, do something about the door - it should not be that hard to open - both going in and out of the restaurant. The food was OK but nothing I...
