Ordered only chicken pad Thai and chicken Penang 6:30pm went to pick it up at 8:00pm. Granted it was busy and Friday. I was avoided 15 min and I had to hunt someone down and she reported they have to check in back. 10 min later still being avoided. Advised the lady we can come back another time as we ordered at 6:30 and it seems it ordered food wasn’t priority. While walking out in the parking lot the bald man comes out the door “ I have your food, do you want it or not” and I expressed this is really not the way to talk to customer. Ofcourse we were hungry so I went back in to pay for it as I did mention to him it would be appreciative to have someone come to front when someone is waiting but bald guy begins to be manipulative and defensive and rude in attempt to justify and says “you came late and that is why” as I was holding the very hot food as if it was just made I advised him you know you are being very rude to me in front of others. His narcissistic response was “I’m trying to help you “ as he didn’t acknowledge how rude he just was front of others. I told him we are routine customer but I believe you just lost a customer. He expressed, “we have plenty of people” with gesture to not care or accommodate the situation at all
If that doesn’t seem condescending, arrogant and complete narcissistic behavior as owner to be that way to a take out customer I’m not sure what else way can be very bad experience
To be honest. This restaurant the cook does a wonderful job in the food but part of eating out is also the experience of kindness in reception of the food we PAY for! The food and experience together makes any restaurant desirable by all means
I am very disappointed and distraught the way this bald man probably the owner spoke to me as I will never have my family or myself to go there to experience this occurrence again.
I don’t have tell anyone not to go but everyone reading this can make your own judgement to experience a evening there...
Read moreExcellent restaurant! Went here with the family after a trip to Cresecent Beach. Now, we were visitng during the Time of COVID, so it wasn't very busy. First, the place was easily located right off the main road. The restaurant itself was very clean. They had plenty of hand sanitizer and the tables were appropriately spaced for social distancing. The decor has a hip clean look, and I would be very comfortable coming here with the wife on a date.
The food is what shone through. My kids had cucumber rolls, so I cant speak for the sushi, but they were happy enough. The portions were plenty. My wife and i split a sashimi salad and the green curry with the grouper. The grouper was fried in tempura batter and was quite possibly one of the best made groupers I have had in Florida. It was flaky and not dry at all. It was very fresh and lightly seasoned and took on the flavor from the green curry well. The curry itself was fantastic. The sauce was appropriately thick and not too sweet. They had five levels of spiciness, and my wife and i got level 5. Being spice enthusiasts, we are used to disappointment, but this time we were happily surprised. The spiciness of the curry was perfect and was not too mild and not excessive. It also didn't dominate the dish.
The sashimi salad was good as well but the dressing was a little too much. We had a good portion of sashimi. I can't say much about the fish itself because it got a little overwhelmed by the amount of dressing. The texture of it was good though. They skimped on the greens as well. For $11 though, it was pretty darn good.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone vacationing nearby or passing through. We are definitely going...

If you’re in St. Augustine Beach and craving authentic Thai cuisine or fresh sushi, look no further than Baitong Thai & Sushi. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a cozy ambiance and incredible service, thanks to our amazing server, Napa, who went above and beyond to make the experience unforgettable.
The meal began with a trio of appetizers that set the tone for the night. The Jumping Jalapeño offered a delightful spice kick, the Crab Rangoon was perfectly crisp and creamy, and the Chicken Satay was tender, flavorful, and paired with a rich peanut sauce—absolute perfection.
For mains, the standout dishes were the Green Curry Fried Rice with Shrimp, which was beautifully spiced and packed with fresh shrimp, and the Masaman Curry with Chili Hot Sauce, a warm, flavorful curry with just the right amount of heat. The warm green tea was the perfect complement to the meal, especially on a chilly evening.
Whether you’re dining in or taking your meal to go, Baitong Thai & Sushi is a must-visit for lovers of bold, authentic flavors. Their curry dishes—whether red, yellow, or masaman—are sure to impress. Plus, the ample parking makes it a convenient spot to drop by.
