First time I had even heard of this restaurant. We went there on a normal Thursday evening getting there at 1830 (6:30 p.m.) with only the handicap parking spot available. Parking was available across the street in only part of the parking lot across the street, so be careful that you park on the proper side!! HOWEVER, the place was absolutely packed!! I would HIGHLY recommend calling ahead of time and establish a reservation if you plan on eating here!! We were able to obtain a reservation to be seated outside on the 2nd floor of the restaurant (note: as I am a disabled veteran with mobility issues and a service dog), they do have an elevator for disabled personnel only. Also to be able to utilize the elevator, the manager has to first ensure or call the elevator is on the proper floor, then unlock the door to enter, once you enter the elevator, you are instructed to NOT touch any buttons or other systems in the elevator. However there is a safety rail to assist you in maintaining your balance. Also the manager of the restaurant also has to continue to remain at the elevator wherever the handicap customer entered until the elevator has reach the designated level as the activation key much be maintained active for the elevator to continue to rise. After reaching the designated level, all you have to do is push open the door to exit the elevator. Now regarding the food, as the restaurant was extremely busy, it did take time for our appetizers we're finally brought out, though for a server to initially to arrive and request our drink orders, did arrive very quickly! I am honestly not sure how long it took to finally receive our meals as we were enjoying seeing each other after many years since our last time together, we were busy laughing and catching up with each other. When our food arrived, it was all fresh and served hot, though be careful if you want to move your plate as the center of the plate will be warm to hot!! And you will be warmed as such if you reach to take your plate to assist the server by taking your plate. As for the food, the menu of course, consists with the majority of their food being sea food but they also offer a few other types of food grilled chicken breast dinner, hamburgers, and a NY steak strip, as for side dishes, mac and cheese is always a excellent choice for kids. I do believe they also have a children's menu as well but as our party consisted of 5 adults, none of us inquired nor noted. Also, regarding the menu, there are small crab symbols beside certain dishes, which is Crabby's Beach side restaurant to allow customers to be able to notice which of the numerous dishes offered are most popular along with being well known for. The food was extremely delicious and with portions enough to fill the person easily. As each one of us needed to request a take home container. Now regarding the price for the meal, some of the dishes offered will have instead of an exact price, will instead list "based on current market", which was the case for my 12oz NY strip steak. After receiving the check (which I picked up as the others had paid the last time) was barely under $240.00 not including the $50.00 tip we left. BUT with that price included one Bloody Mary, plus three additional alcohol drinks and two appetizers plus five dinners and a half pound hamburger patty for my service dog. Also regarding service, the waitress was extremely attentive and even brought a plastic bowl with cold water for my service dog! Also, I do want to let you know, that five people could order sandwiches instead of dinners and drinks for somewhere around $100.00. So it isaffordable for people on a budget as well!!

Read moreLooking for a random place in St Augustine for last minute breakfast on a Sunday is usually pretty challenging without a reservation but we took our chances. Found this little spot. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. Cute decor. Thats the first thing you notice, but from there.....you notice that the hostess took 20 minutes to acknowledge the 3 different parties waiting at the front door because shes busy bussing tables for the waitresses because they certainly are not going to pre or post bus their own tables. About a 5 minute wait for a table for 6. The host would inform us that we could have the six top in the dining room once she had time to clean it. We sat, finally, and our waitress arrived. Very nice but tapped the table and left with no drink order just an "Ill be right with you". Another 10 minutes go by. Finally she comes back and we place our 2 kids orders, drinks, and our food order as to help just get things rolling. Were now 35 minutes into this breakfast. 15 minutes later the waters came, well some of them. The alcoholic beverage we ordered came out without some of the ingredients but overall it was tastey. And now we wait....and wait....surrounded by like minded patrons as time went by where no actual tables had food on them. Finally, we asked our waitress who has now decided to wear sunglasses to our table, to bring the kids food out if it was ready. She did. Kids food was perfect for them and it wasn't cold which was a little shocking considering how long it had been since we placed our initial order. I asked for an extra two eggs for my son. The manager arrived to the table to apologize for not being able to cook additional eggs because they were turning the kitchen over for lunch even though we hadnt even received our breakfast. She said they only had 2 cooks and she apologized for the slow food. We shared the generalized observations of no waitresses helping, no tables with food, just no flow, no teamwork, and communication was lacking. Again she apologized and left. Only to be met with the next table complaining about ticket time and wanting to leave before their food arrived due to the wait. Fortunately, our food came out eventually and to our surprise it wasn't terrible. It didn't feel like it sat under heat lamps or anything. It was actually quite delicious. So 2 stars for the food. 0 to 1 star for service. Teamwork and communication matter in the restaurant business. More than most matter. If your team doesn't see problems as everyone's problem and the term "thats not my job" enter their mindset, it's time to cut them lose. Best wishes to a restaurant with lots...
