I can't begin to say enough great things about this small business... Where you are treated Not like a number or a customer but like family... We will drive out of our way to visit Cafe 11 for brunch. You can't beat the price quality or exceptional service, especially in a town that caters to tourists. It's nice to find a business that doesn't treat you like one....
Great service! Great food and great location!!!
Let me talk a little bit about the staff that make it even more special, in no particular order we have: Sarah who greets you warmly with a smile, explains any thing you have questions on whether it's coffee mimosas you name it she can tell you... Also, she informed us that there was a comedy show who knew that they had comedy shows and live music at Cafe 11. They actually had Chris Farley's brother performing stand-up comedy last weekend... Next up Crystal who was our server who is attentive, knowledgeable and so friendly, even giving us recommendations for places to go and things to see...
Then we have Kevin King with his tips for flips (Omelette and pancake station) King of the pancakes and omelette station made to order. No extra charge. But please tip that man. He is a pancake Slayer and an omelette genius!!!! I'm all about texture and he has absolutely nailed how to properly do a chocolate chip pancake and if you add bananas and walnuts you won't be disappointed. It's unlike anything else I've tasted in the pancake world and trust me I have had my share lol.... And then we have Mr. Andrew. I'm not really sure what his role is. I think he's a chef or owner idk. However when he was dropping stuff off at the buffet I made the comment to my hubby in line that I would wait for the next round of French toast sticks cuz there were only a couple slices left... I didn't say it to any staff. I didn't know anybody heard me and about 3-4 minutes later he's passing our table and it's like hey so I heard that you'd like some french toast sticks and I'm like oh my goodness Thank you!!! I mean tableside and smiles and I did not even have to ask. I mean come on what kind of service is that that's family service!!!!
And I think there are two Sarah's because we came back another weekend LOL. And I met another lady named Sarah who was absolutely friendly, fabulous and have such a fantastic attitude!!!
Now let me talk about the price...
I do not think that you can find a better value for your money, the amount of food, the service, the quality of food and the price out there. You can't even feed two people Fast food for the cost of what we ate just for brunch with coffee... It's was significantly less and it was also unlimited and fantastic quality...
There are definitely a lot of tourist trap restaurants in St. Augustine that are overpriced quality is mediocre at best and service. There isn't any literally...
However, this is definitely not one of those restaurants. Please support this local family-owned business. You won't...
Read moreMy mother wanted French toast and coffee so we went here for a late breakfast.
Food was adequate and price ok! But, the staff not so much….place was not busy Friday morning at 11am. Staff did not greet us or make any effort to help get us started. Several customers walked in and then back out because they were not greeted. I get that it’s an order at the counter concept, many places are, but they know how to say hello and help the guests along. Lady who took our order seemed “put out” to have to be taking our order; generally gave cold shoulder. Said coffee is over there and gave a half-hearted point in the general direction of what looked like a household coffee pot that malfunctioned.
Seems like some “age profiling” may be occurring here because when a young couple came in they tripped over themselves to accommodate them!!!
Uber cool guy with Star Wars hat behind counter was completely consumed in talking to one of his hipster buddies with a beard and cared not about anything else. He looked mad as he//. Gave off a complete serial killer vibe. Cook in kitchen kept giving creeper looks through the pass through window that was overloaded with plates. Another cook kept coming into dining room, had bushy beard but wore no protection to keep hair outta food. Waitress spent time creating busy work plopping plates the entire time we were there.
Place has a 90’s post-hipster burnout vibe; I guess that’s ok but given the poor attitude of the staff; don’t expect a warm fuzzy out of anybody at this place. This miserable staff needs customer service training if the business is to survive.
Update: After talking to some locals I find out that these actions are normal at...
Read moreI just wanted to feed my kids and regret ever walking in this place. Honestly if I could give zero stars I would. The lady taking orders was rude from the moment we entered. We were practically yelled at by the manager and another employee for asking about our order after almost an hour of waiting when we were told 30 minutes. The other half of our party already had their food and had finished eating and people that ordered after us received theirs as well and we had 4 children that were starving. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom as well. I’m just not really sure why you would treat a paying customer this way as a business owner or why you are in the hospitality industry if you don’t want to provide basic customer service. All we were asking for was an update on the food because our kids were hungry and we got nothing but “everyone here is waiting” and “breakfast items take longer, would you like to go somewhere else?” If a paying customer inquiring about a product they payed for is harassment then again, I don’t think you should be in the restaurant industry. We had a wonderful experience at a restaurant just up the street. I wish I had this hour of my life back and the terrible exchange...
