Pink Elephant Cupcakes — Restaurant in Saint Clair Shores

The ONLY local place I will get cupcakes from! They have a large selection & offer other desserts besides cupcakes like cookies & brownies. What I love the most is how for most of their cupcakes, they wrap the frosting around the top whereas many shops lazily “plop” the frosting on. This makes the flavorful frosting stay on with each bite & personally, I like that presentation better.

I’ve been here over a dozen times and I’ve never had a bad cupcake. Some of my favorite flavors include their “bumpy cake”, mint chocolate, banana pudding, carrot cake, & double chocolate. Pictured here (that I didn’t eat yet) are the peanut butter chocolate & strawberry.

They add in different flavors each month, but as if you need more reason to come back, they also have a point reward system.

I think the price is fair for how delicious and the quality of cupcakes these are. Sometimes, I split the cupcakes in half or quarters so all can sample the flavor.

Ugh so disappointed 😞. I went here in April for my sons birthday, I ordered the 8 inch Fruity Pebbles cake. It was delicious and there were no extra charges for writing or icing put on top. It was $40. I've gone back a few times, although for Mothers Day I ordered the regular sized cupcakes a few weeks in advance & was given mini ones. I did not say anything because they were very busy. This past week I ordered a smaller cake, 6 inch, which states on their website is $30. No where on the site does it say an extra charge for icing on top and writing added to it. I was shocked today when I picked it up and it was $40. $5 for icing on top and $5 for writing put on top. When I ordered on the phone the person I spoke with said NOTHING about the extra charges. I was not happy but I needed it for a birthday party. Not nice to do that to a customer. You should ALWAYS tell the customer you are adding on charges to the order OR have it listed on the website. When I called about the stale cupcakes I had just bought this morning, she lied and said they were baked today. I guess she didn’t realize I have had their fresh cupcakes. I know what a stale cupcake looks like and tastes like. The frosting was hard for a ways into the frosting, unlike fresh frosting that almost melts in your mouth. The cake part that’s exposed on the edges of the cupcake was really dry and hard. They were closed yesterday (Tuesday). It’s my guess this cupcake was more than a few days stale. I called for a refund on all 6 and was told that wasn’t their policy. Their policy was to replace them. I wanted a refund as I’m leery of what else they could be lying about. . I don’t need to buy a baked good from an untrustworthy and rude bakery. I don’t think the girl behind the counter today (11-20-2019) gives a hoot about the business. I’ll get my refund thru my...
