Nautical Deli — Restaurant in Saint Clair Shores

This deli has been our family’s go to for great sandwiches and soup for many years. However the customer service has never been important to them. Most of the time we overlooked it because we would carry out because of it. Tonight my husband I were at the deli and we didn’t realize that we were there so close to closing time. We would not have been offended if the girl taking our order had told us that it was almost closing time and gave us the option to take our food home. We only realized that it was closing time when the same girl that took our order started putting the chairs up on the tables all around us. This is not the first time this has been done I guess tonight I had just had it. We certainly understand that the staff is done for the day and are ready to go home but your last customers of the day should be treated like the first customers of the day. We felt like we were being told to get the hell out even though we were not done eating and that we needed to leave so they could. The only table that was open was the one that we were sitting at ! they even started turning off the lights and the kitchen staff came out from the back to stare at us. This is completely unacceptable and for as many years as we have been patrons of this establishment we will never go there again. I would suggest to you that if you want to get food from this deli you should treat it like every other fast food restaurant, always...

I came in here for a sandwich before and there was an Asian boy who made it and I saw him eat with his gloves on and then proceed to make the sandwiches with those same gloves. Another time, I saw him drop a knife on the floor, and then reuse it after just wiping it off with a towel. Not only that, but when he rung me up and I asked to add a soda to the tab he said it would be too much work and hed have to ring it separately. He gave me such a nasty attitude and he mumbled so I could barely hear him. Not only that, but their pickles are always leaking out of the bag and make the sandwiches all wet and the bag always rips. Their online menu and their in store menu don't match-- they have extra items on their online menu. I saw the workers grab my soup roll with their bare hands after dealing with the cash register and I was absolutely repulsed. They're majorly understaffed and have definitely gone downhill in the last few years-- they offer extremely mundane service for their...

We came here because Harry’s deli on Mack avenue was closed. Yes, it’s very nice inside and modern, and the staff were friendly. But that’s not what we were looking for, for lunch. The food was decidedly not very good, and we will not be coming back. I ordered the vegetarian Ruben sandwich, (which by the way is superb at Harry’s) and it was in no way resembling a Ruben. Even the bread was terrible. My girlfriend ordered the Georgia Corned beef sandwich, which is basically a Ruben with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut, and it’s almost as if they forgot the corned beef! Very stingy. There’s only one ketchup bottle for the entire restaurant and nothing to squirt in into. No mustard at all! Really? A deli with no mustard?
