Pizza Hut — Restaurant in Saint Johnsbury

Words cannot describe the incredible experience I had at this Pizza Hut location. After an exceptionally long drive, this was one of the few places open in town. We were the only customers in the dining room that night, which we assumed would be a bad sign. Oh how wrong we were. I don’t know who was working there on the night of 1/9, or what they did, but that night we experienced what I believe is the pinnacle of restaurant dining, and – on a greater level – the beauty of what it means to live in our modern age. The boneless wings (garlic parmesan and buffalo) were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of sauce, a rewardingly crispy outside, and just the right about of moist white meat. Mozzarella sticks and breadsticks were fresher than any one I’ve had from Pizza Hut before; I assume they were removed from whatever mystery cooking vessel at just the right time. And the pizza - oh, the pizza - crispy crust, just enough thickness to support the ingredients delicately placed on top, a bubbly layer of cheese… I’ve had the best pizza that NYC and New Haven has to offer, and this beat out at least half of those. A Pizza Hut! My god! AND everything was plated and served on wooden pizza peels and baskets and drinks were served and decor was displayed and wow… you gotta try it. Came here tonight with my wife, 2 other people in here eating place was dead. Took waitress about 10 minutes to come see us the 1st time, ordered our drinks, took about 15 minutes to get those. She clearly paid no attention to our order. My wife ordered a medium thin crispy crust veggie, I ordered a pan both medium size and a order of cheese bread sticks. She came back 20 minutes later with 2 orders of cheese bread sticks. Then came out with 2 thin crispy crust pizzas. I said I ordered a pan, she didn't say nothing just took it back and about 20 minutes later cheese out with the rite pizza. We also got 2 sodas. I went to pay the bill, was over $61. I asked why so expensive, was told oh 2 medium pizzas, a double order of cheese bread sticks and drinks. I said I didn't order 2 orders of cheese bread sticks. I did not want to argue because the woman at the register clearly did not wanna hear what I had to say. So I paid the bill which was very expensive for what we were supposed to get 2 medium pizzas, 2 drinks and 1 order of cheese bread sticks. We drove half hour to go there. Now I understand why nobody was in there on a Friday night. Food is good, service completely sucks, prices are outrageous for what we got unless we got charged for other stuff as well. What a horrible experience. First off the waitress delivered us the wrong food and brought out both our meals at different times and my wife's pizza was not the correct order so they delivered my food so I was done eating by the time she received her food. My melt was over toasted to say the least. The waitress blamed it on the cook but the woman at the main register was extremely loud. Yelling frequently to everyone working and to the waitress who she knew kept messing up the order. The table was dirty. They had brought us no silverware. The paper towel roll was empty at our seat so I had to go get our own silverware and paper towels. Then to top it off she brought us someone else bill which was more than 3 times the amount i spent. Just overall felt like the salvation army version of Applebee's. And I'm progressive but our waitress had more metal in her face than ironman. Not very family friendly atmosphere. Definitely will not return. The nostalgic restaurant I grew up with has faded into history. Very sad to see what's familiar gone 😭 the floors were dirty with food everywhere. The windows had hand prints all over them. The shakers on the table were all empty and fingerprints all over them.
