If I could give this place 0 stars I would, our experience was horrible, I ordered a Burrito California, which mind you doesn’t say anything about red sauce. I waited for what I thought would be a great choice, because I always order the same burrito, again not knowing it would come smothered in red sauce. Our server brings the food out and I immediately told him I didn’t know that there was red sauce on it, and that I would not eat it, remind you it doesn’t state on the menu that it comes with any red sauce. I would not have ordered it if I had known it did, and I told our server this politely!! He then just stood there and looked at me like he was confused and I was stupid, and then proceeded to tell me that all the burritos come smothered in red sauce, which isn’t stated on MANY items on the menu. Including mine. Now I’m no Karen but I feel like I should have been offered a remake AT LEAST!! So when he told me that’s how they all come and that he should have told me, I repeated that I wouldn’t be eating it and I was not okay with it. He STILL does not offer me a remake, then I questioned him why I should pay for a $15 burrito that I didn’t touch, I was not informed it was gonna come out swimming in red sauce and something needed to be done, so he walks away and brings my husband the check and I was still charged full price, not to mention them messing up on my two year old daughters food, we asked for a simple request, a tortilla with some cheese. ONLY cheese, which we repeated 3-4 times. Her food also came out SMOTHERED in red sauce. It’s ridiculous. She wouldn’t even touch it. So we both were just out on our food AND our money, making my husbands entree a $60 meal. Worst experience with a restaurant I’ve had in awhile, the table was horrible It was moving all over the place, the toilet in the women’s restroom wouldn’t flush, the sink in the bathroom didn’t even work, it was just not a good time. 0/10...

They forgot paid condiments, forgot one of my family members entire order, and the food that was actually made, was completely messed up and missing ingredients we paid extra for. After driving a total of 25 minutes due to the carelessness of the resteraunt employees, I politely requested a refund (very fair if you consider the circumstances and the profit margins on mexican food). The employee at the register offered me extra food that I didnt want or need and argued for a good couple of minutes with me that a refund was not available unless we drove all the way back home and got the rest of the food to bring back to them so they can throw it in the trash (It would be a food safety violation to do anything else with the food.) In no way would a tortilla, sliced chicken breast, and fried vegetables that retail for $7 compensate for the time and gas money wasted on the restaraunt error. What a terrible, greedy business. I'd suggest not spending your money here. I basically paid over 50 dollars for some cold food, wasted 30+ minutes of my time, gas money, only to never get my food that I paid for, or any money back (not to mention by the time we got home, empty handed, the rest of the food that we were nice enough to keep even though it was completely made wrong, was cold and the shredded chicken was dripping some cloudy looking fluid which I hope was water). This is borderline criminal. Tried to report to the BBB only to find out they arent even registered. Will never, EVER spend a dime here again, and will be pursuing contact...

Let me start off and say if you are looking for the local Mexican spot that white people love this is the place. I can not make this up but as I was eating this amazing salsa with paper thin chips that I was finally able to let all the stress I have been holding onto fall off my shoulders. Sometimes you just need that to appreciate the moment you are in. I don’t know if anyone will ever read this but this place is special. If you are in the area please stop in and experience the magic this place has two old people greet each other with Hola than ask if they have fresh guacamole. They order up a round of margs. And say to each other that they have been wanting to get together for a while now. You realize they are old friends who happened to be in the area. They haven’t seen each other in 10 years and they really reconnect and you can feel the emotion in the conversation. As all of this going on I get my food and let me tell you what the fresh guacamole really paired well with the meal. As you hear the conversation you realize how fast time really is traveling and you look back at your life and realize how special the moments you have experienced and that I need to relax that life is not that intense and I can control a lot of my emotions so that I really slow down and experience the moment. Love the people I’m with and try to be present. Just as I got to a quarter cup of water left you waiter grabs it and refills it without asking. Now that is service. Nice place. I would stop by if you...

We haven't eaten at this restaurant so thought we would give it a try. Well, we went, we tried, we won't go again. Pro: Serving size was big for the price. Better be hungry when you go if you are one that must finish your plate no matter. Cons: Food lacked flavor. I don't think they used seasoning at all. I had a steak chimichanga and the meat almost seemed to be boiled and kept hot that way. Rice lacked flavor also. The only thing I liked was the cheese sauce that covered it. My husband had fajitas. There was a large piece of steak on top that was covered in shredded cheese. It had shrimp, chicken, and chorizo along with onions and peppers. He said his lacked any flavor as well. But he got 4 tortillas instead of the usual 3 you get at most Mexican restaurants. Chips tasted funny and salsa was colored water. If you are hungry for Mexican food, there are much better options. The place was packed so people must like the food or the margaritas.

I have to give this restaurant 5 stars and I do so easily. Since moving out to Missouri this is the 2nd time I've been surprised by the quality flavors and service at a Mexican restaurant. Our server was friendly and just the right amount of attentive. My family and I ordered an array of food and drinks, each of which was delicious and cooked to perfection. The usual complimentary tortilla chips came out warm, tasty and promptly. There was not a moment we had to wait to catch our server, he was always ready to oblige despite many of the tables being filled with other patrons. The climate of the dining area was bright and energetic with an explosion of vibrant colors that appealed to our occular senses. When we get a hankering for Mexican food in the future and are in St. Joseph, rest assured we'll be going back to Los Compadres.
