Wonderful Experience at Ai Hues Bakery & Deli Next to Basil Cafe
I recently visited Ai Hues Bakery & Deli, located right next to Basil Cafe on University Avenue near Dale Street in St. Paul, and I was truly impressed. When I walked in, the place looked so nice, clean, and comforting-it immediately made me feel welcome. William was at the register and greeted me warmly, which added to the great first impression.
I highly recommend trying their Chrysanthemum Tea-a beautifully refreshing drink with a delicate floral sweetness thatâs both soothing and delicious. It pairs perfectly with their food offerings. The congee (rice soup) I tried was the best I have ever had-rich, flavorful, and comforting in every spoonful.
I also bought three different steamed buns-savory pork, sweet taro, and another delicious variety-and they looked fantastic. Iâm excited to try them soon!
The friendly service, combined with the high-quality food and cozy atmosphere, makes Ai Hues Bakery & Deli a must-visit spot. Whether youâre stopping by for a quick snack or a light meal, this place delivers an authentic and delightful experience. I canât wait to return...
Read moreIâm not the type of a person that complains and spends time a to write a review, but Ăi HuĂȘ really disappointed me yesterday when i came in. Itâs a sunday evening at 6:00pm , there were only two guests in the restaurant at the time and they were having bĂĄnh mĂŹ. So i decided to buy 4 grilled pork sandwiches and 4 durian drinks. When i asked them to put ice separately since i gotta drive far to get home, the women in the kitchen said itâs going to be an extra $5. Iâve never seen any restaurant that charges extra just because ice is separated from the drink, but i said: Ok. Their durian drinks are awesome, so i didnât mind. But when i went home, me and my family could not finish 1/3 of the sandwiches. They were extremely terrible. They put leftover pork in all of my sandwiches - you know the kind of leftover pork that was overcooked, really dry and chewy after several days of reheating?? - that was what they put in for all my sandwiches. I paid extra for the pork and pate, which all were a waste. Now come to think of it, this is probably the reason why there are only 2 guests at the restaurant on a Sunday 6:00pm. I will...
Read moreGreat place. Had cream puffs, and thought they were not Wisconsin style, with sweetened whipped cream, but with custard, they were excellent. They filled them as I watched, so that they would not get soggy! Also got two sweet soup/pudding items. One was banana (fried maybe) with tapioca and coconut milk (I think), the other black-eyed peas with large tapioca, and fresh coconut cream (well not fresh squeezed, but a sweet concoction added as I watched so that it was layered in the container). Both of these were wonderful. I love the Asian sweets made with beans, and also tapioca, so these are not really a stretch for me, but others may think these a bit different. But try them, they are...
