YES WE CAME TO EAT HERE 💯
I was part of a birthday gathering and of course I arrived before the guest of honor. Parking is scarce‼️ I was seated with a several others while we waited. No one came with water so I went to the bar and got my own beverage and asked the bartender for a tray for water it was then “eight of us!” It seemed as if he’d disappeared so I went back to the table and discovered pitchers of water 💯 alright. We had already read the reviews before coming so I wasn’t unnerved YET 😳 Our waitress was pleasant and seemingly up for the task of serving our growing group. However, she told us she’d be back to check on us and never came…It’s 11:58 and we finally get to order…I ordered the catfish and mac&cheese which was delicious the food only took 38-40 minutes to come out NOT BAD TIMING and of course nobody complained about the food because as my Daddy would say “let the food stop ya mouths” it truly did‼️We had a few stragglers who happened in and didn’t get to order for at least 20-30 minutes after sitting down. There was another large group also in the same area as we were with their own server so I can not attest to the service they received but the folks who came and sat on the patio got immediate service! 🤔🤔🤔 It was clear when they began removing our dishes we were finished but another 30-40 minutes to get my $25 check 😳 I felt I was being held hostage for a while. It is definitely an experience 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 The icing on the cake was when a guest was accused of “already eating and lying about being served” she was late and was eating off of another guests plate while waiting for her food 👀 it was quite the experience and when the Owner/Manager came out the smug smile that he kept plastered on his face was a clear sign that he doesn’t know how to ask for the help he needs to get from under “poor customer service” jacket. Nor does he see it as an issue 🤷🏾 I’m sorry great food poor service and customer relations! If this is really it no Sir I won’t support or return. I’ll wait for better service reviews! They DO have people who will come in and train you on customer service and how to present and...
Read moreWe should have known something was up when there was no staff or customers anywhere in sight at 6:30PM.
When we started to order, our server told us that because they were out of potatoes there weren’t any French fries. How do you run out of potatoes? They’re everywhere. And this is definitely not the kind of place that makes fresh French fries.
Anyway, it only got worse from there. My dad almost broke a tooth on a bone in his small burger.
My dad’s fiancée ordered the walleye. It was thin, tough, and all of four-inches long. That’s what she said.
My wife and I each ordered the big beef. Mine was the Philly style. It didn’t come with cheese on it. And they didn’t have au jus, which they didn’t let us know until they brought it out. But that was probably for the best, as the beef itself was so salty it burned. It was also dry and seemed days old. We couldn’t eat them and had them taken away.
My son’s loaded fries, which were loaded tots because, again, they were out of fries, were also so salty he could only eat about a third.
And the tater tots, which we all got, were dry, tough, and seemed days old.
We pointed a handful of these issues out to our server. Among other things, she said the cook told her that the fish shrinks a lot when you pan sear it. News to me. She did ask us if we wanted anything else. So we ordered some dry wings, not dry-rubbed wings mind you, just dry wings.
At least my daughter liked her BBQ wings.
When the bill came around, all the items were still on there. We couldn’t believe it.
Then, the rest of the clientele, just one small group-the place was mostly empty and I can see why-were from an inner-city culture where everyone yells everything at everyone all the time, so the atmosphere was way off, especially my early teen and pre-teen kids.
All in all, quite the experience. Definitely not what you’d...
Read moreAugust 20th, 2016. Stopped for a quick lunch with my wife, ordered an Indeed Brewing "Shenanigans" on tap, onion rings and a chicken sandwich with fries. The beer came but it did not taste right. I went to look at their taps and they didn'the even have Shenanigans available. The waitress came with out food and I asked her what it was. She didn't know and said she would replace it, I asked her for a Coke instead. My wife and I watched her take the beer back, she and the bartender began looking at all of the beers on tap and then she continued serving other tables. By the time my Coke came we were already done eating, she asked how the meal was. I told her we were not happy and my wife asked for the bill. When she came with bill I asked to see the manager. I explained to her the experience we had and she gave me a story about they may have had to tap a new keg last night and the bartender may not have been aware that they may have needed to switch beers. I stopped her as it was 3:10 in the afternoon not 9am and her story was completely ridiculous. I told her that our experience today was Bullshit. She said that she would remove the Coke from our bill but I had no right to swear at her and she was offended. I explained to her I did not swear "AT" her, once again that I was served a beer that I did not order, they could not tell me what they served me, we were finished with our meal before the replacement coke even reached the table and that I should be the one offended by their service. I would not recommend this place to anyone that expects to receive the correct items that they order or to expect to get a beverage with their meal. I say again, the service at Billy's on Grand...
