I would love to say some great reviews about the place is it relates to the staff. However my husband and I this morning were met with rude behavior and disposition unnecessarily. There was a wall that has a bunch of merchandise multiple coffees that have price tags on them in bags to the far right of the service counter. While we reviewing the coffee and the wall we noticed that there were albums on the shelf next to the coffee. My husband picked up an album and showed it to me; next thing we know we're getting met with someone yelling at him telling him to stop touching the albums. We apologized and explained that he was just showing me the album. She said you don't belong back here. She acted as if we came totally behind the entire serving counter. Which we had not! Where we were standing was a merchandise wall. There are several merchandise walls in the entire space. I have a feeling she was overreacting and became very rude and disrespectful in her body language and in her verbal comments. She asked us to leave after we explained to her what we were trying to do and we also explained that her attitude was not necessary. it's unfortunate Katie doesn't know how to address uncomfortable situations it's unfortunate Katie made large assumptions that two African-Americans were trying to steal perhaps an album. We had no intentions my husband is an enthusiast of jazz it's a jazz album. Kevin e Washington is one of the best jazz musicians in the twin Cities. John Coltrane Love supreme album was what he was admiring. It was one of his favorite albums which is why he was showing it to me. If they don't want these items to be touched they should not be in common areas where merchandise is displayed and sold. We were planning to take some time to experience the place as we plan to rent a house in the neighborhood. Because we were asked to leave we weren't able to experience the community in the way in which we intended. I'm writing this review from the patio. Since I'm not allowed to come in because my husband touched an album and voiced our opinion on her reaction. No we did not cuss her out or scream or act belligerent we were courteous which was quite the opposite of...
Read moreDogwood is my favorite coffee company shops in the cities. They roast their own beans on-site in Minneapolis and have them ready for consumption within a day; pretty astounding. The drinks you can buy when you're there are the real star of the show, however.
Two different fresh-roasted espressos for aficionados, and all the classic café beverages, including: Cappuccino, Café latte, Café mocha, iced lattes/mocha, Café americano, etc. They also have a fair selection of well-sourced teas to choose from. However, best of all for me: They have cold brew, and it's good. The best of all? No, but taste is subjective and this is still a high-quality brew.
Where the drinks grabbed your attention, the location and people will keep you. Dogwood has this curious practice of locating in unassuming spots, at least this location and their main Minneapolis one. They are tucked back in this quaint industrial area with apartments nearby, just away from University Avenues chaos. The interior however is decorated nicely and gives you that air of class without suffocating you with it. I enjoy sitting down and chatting with friends in this location just as much as other dogwoods. It's not particularly cramped but not vast either.
Overall? I swear by Dogwood for that artisan coffee experience. It serves that itch I have for great coffee, friendly homely service, and relaxing, clean atmosphere. Go here or any other Dogwood that you're near if you want to...
Read moreEDIT: I miss the old location. They just moved last week, and the new yellow seats are already stained. I saw other patrons laying on the couch areas with their shoes on. Water stains on the tables. It looked dirty and was disappointing.
Conceptually, the space is gorgeous, and it’s really cozy with carved out seating areas. I imagine such a new, large space is hard to keep clean.
Coffee wise, it is the flavor you expect from Dogwood, a darker roast than others. Nice latte art. There were no pastries after noon on a Wednesday. It wasn’t clear which side of the bar to order from, so hopefully they’ll put up a sign soon.
Very convenient to travel to via light rail. If using a car, it’s a bit difficult to find parking if you want to linger longer than an hour. I understand they had to move, but I do miss the old location and vibes.

Great place to relax with nice coffee and deliciously flakey French pastries from Marc Heu. The space is equipped with small booths, larger booths, and various table spaces to stretch out and have some time to yourself. The music also isn't too loud, which is refreshing. They added some green chairs recently to help liven the space up. I really enjoy spending time here and...
