Joe & Stan's Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Saint Paul

Updated review: I loved this bar and the great food specials but things haved changed over last year or two. The service is the worst I’ve had in years — from any venue. It’s like a group of five women having a contest to see who can sit together and ignore customers and doing their job the longest! The one guy in the kitchen who has a clue is just that. The one guy in the kitchen. The food was good once a waitress found the desire to get up and bring it to the table. The Bingo IS rigged!! I never think about it but when just playing to pass the time while waiting for food and beers, we played bingo. We were in SHOCK after I called “bingo” three times and my husband twice — another “customer” in booth across started yelling that “She can’t hear you, and if she calls another number you missed your bingo” and then, while people at the bar turned around to see who kept screaming Bingo, another number was called. we went up to tell her we had Bingo, but she REFUSED TO PAY BINGO because the last number she called was not our Bingo. Suddenly! The exact women who “randomly” yelled to us that we would lose if she called another number, got the Bingo and was given the cash prize. Clearly the booth was not part of the rest of the regular bar crowd here. They scammed us!

Joe & Stan's cares about the community, it really shows. They've outdone themselves with a beautiful facade makeover that evokes British pubs and interior touches that provide for family-friendly dining in the front and more traditional sports dining toward the rear. John, the owner, is always on hand to greet people as they're being seated and likes to highlight the daily specials while very friendly and competent staff wait tables or tend bar. It's a very family business feel, relaxed and casual. Karaoke is nonjudgmental--any and all are welcome to belt out a tune. It can get pretty raucous on Karaoke night with PBR tallboys literally flying from the bar. Daily food specials are a very reasonably priced, cooked expertly and to order (never stale, burnt, or greasy), I highly recommend the taco special, 2 for $5 on certain days (flat-bottom flaky crust tacos stuffed with seasoned meat and crisp toppings)! Delicious! Joe & Stan's is a solid choice, whether you're looking for that homey bar to catch the big game (so many big screens!), enjoy a cold brew or two, or bring the whole family for a friendly evening meal. Good times and good people, just like a good ol' St. Paul Irish...

I love going to this bar! Heidi is one of the best bartenders ever, she is always smiling and happy to see her customers! They have great food specials and entertainment... Joker Wild Night, Bingo, Meat Raffle, and Pull Tabs/ Electronic Tabs. The food is very good, especially the pizza. I must say the only thing I do not like is their hamburger bun...I was told they changed bakery's and I can not order hamburgers or chicken sandwiches any more (The bun has a weird texture and bad flavor). I have had many conversations with other customers that agree so I would skip anything with a bun.Otherwise this is a great place to go! Cant go wrong with this...
