Nothing Bundt Cakes — Restaurant in Saint Paul

I love cake so I was really excited to try Nothing Bundt Cakes. The little shop is absolutely lovely. There are a bunch of cute gift items along with the Bundt Cakes. I waffled between giving a 4 or 5 here as really the cakes we got were yummy and moist with really good frosting but the strawberry Bundt cake was... slightly disappointing. It tasted artificial. Good, but not entirely strawberry. It tasted of perhaps some freeze dried strawberries with artificial strawberry flavoring. The classic vanilla was really good. Service was fine but she seemed bored and disinterested. That's fine, it wasn't busy. I'd probably be bored too. Since it satisfied my cake craving, I'll give it a 5. It's not a place I'll go to twice but it was worth trying and I think many many people will absolutely love this cake!

Accessibility: There is one accessible parking spot. It's very tight and difficult to get a wheelchair out of. The store is accessible for wheelchairs...kinda. it's very small and there are many fragile items. Navigation is tight. The counter is fairly high. I was able to navigate around the store in my wheelchair, but nearly knocked over a few things and my chair is only 21" wide (14"seat) - standard chairs...

For my wedding on 9/12 I had ordered a 10inch bundt cake for my hubby and I to cut. My mom called them without my knowledge and requested an additional 8inch cake to be placed on top of it so it was more “weddingy”... I eventually found out that on the day of, the person who picked up my cake got home to set it up and it was completely crushed and lop sided because the person that packed it into the box tried to squeeze both tiers into a regular sized cake box... their boxes are only meant for one cake- not a tiered cake. So my close family friend that was helping coordinate our wedding had to call them, and get a new cake before our guests arrived. It was extremely chaotic from what I hear, and just unfortunate that we had to make another trip there on an already busy day! They did rectify things with us and gave us a new one at no charge.

The cake was delicious but the customer service is awful. I thought about strictly ordering online days/weeks ahead of time, paying ahead of time and show up a little later than the intended scheduled day/time to give the staff all the time they need to prepare. However, as many Americans face a hard time dealing with the covid 19 pandemic, I called to let them know I have arrived and the online advertisement on their website was calling ahead and being able to do curbside pick up/drop off. When I arrived I had called and a lady picked up to tell me they can't guarantee if my order was ready and to "come to the table and pick it up yourself" hung up while i saw their staff approach other vehicles to drop off and not practicing safe social distance with other regular customers. I felt that they picked and chose which customers safety was more important. Moving forward I will not return to this location and maybe...
