Not only am I disgusted, but I'm embarrassed to say I'm from OC, MD.
We always buy our blue crabs from IC Sharks, but after tonight, not anymore. We are from Ocean City, MD, and so is the owner - which is why we go there, they know how we like our blue crabs. However, after our experience tonight at their "tiki bar," we will be taking our business elsewhere.
We were excited when we first heard they were opening a restaurant and waited until the crowd died down until we went. Well, it was the biggest disappoint I think I've experienced in my life so far. We walk up, there's no defined hostess stand, and no hostess. We had to go up to the bar to figure out if we could be seated or where to sit. Then, our waitress, who was an utter disgrace (we saw her to order and then for the check and that was it), forgot our drinks.
Anyone who has been to Ocean City, MD knows you can't even get in your car and turn onto Coastal Highway without seeing an "All You Can Eat" for something (usually Blue crabs at least). Here, from the owners from OC? Nothing! No all you can eat anything. And not only that, you can't even order blue crabs at all from the restaurant side! This is an embarrassment! To say you're from OC, MD and not even OFFER blue crabs in any form???? WHAT A DISGRACE!!!
So, I SETTLED for stone crabs. Hardly a comparison. But, what can I say, their menu is only one side of a page and over half of it is appetizers (what a terrible selection). So when I get my stone crabs, they were brought with drawn butter. OH WAIT!!! THEY WEREN'T!!! They were served with honey mustard! What the heck??? You are from OC, and you have the nerve to serve crabs with honey mustard. Then when I asked for drawn butter, not only did the person act like it was a huge deal, they CHARGED me for it!!! What??? You charged me for something that is typically served with crabs anyway????
Additionally, if you are going to open a tiki bar, make sure you have the right to call it that. This was nothing more than a redneck hotspot outside on the creek. This was a terrible representation of a tiki bar. I've traveled the Caribbean and been to at least four REAL tiki bars, and this is an embarrassment to say the least. No tiki music, no Caribbean drinks. Instead what do they offer? Three "signature" drinks which aren't Caribbean in nature and they play nothing but redneck, hick country music. If that's what you want to play, I'm not knocking you, or the kind of people who want to go there, but don't represent yourself as a TIKI BAR. I would NEVER go here again. Not only would I never patronize their establishment again, I will be searching for a different place to purchase my blue crabs from. This is the most disgraceful restaurant I have ever been to in my life, and anyone who enjoys this establishment is a low class redneck - not someone who actually appreciates quality seafood and real ambiance.
Oh yea, and good luck parking, with their five parking spaces. We had to park way down the street at the beach. And good luck talking to a manager about your experience because there's none...
Read moreMy wife and I went to I C Sharks for a late lunch at its Cafe and Bar. In actuality, what we observed when we arrived was an outdoor (somewhat covered) bar.
We ordered a dozen oysters and were told they were from Chesapeake. They were good- sized and tasty.
Our bartender/server was friendly and nice, but had to be asked to provide what we considered to be basics - plates and forks.
We ordered the Blue Crab Dip, and answered affirmatively that we would like it to come out with the oysters, before our main meal. It came out after our main meal was served. The Blue Crab Dip was very flavorful.
We both ordered a grouper sandwich which had well-seasoned blackened grouper. It tasted great, but had a major flaw - my wife and I could not hold our sandwiches because the bun was so soft that the liquid from the grouper and lettuce/tomato soggied up the bun. A Kaiser roll our something firmer would have made more sense.
The atmosphere was that of an outdoor bar, not on the water, with no view, but with good food and bar drinks.
The I C Sharks Market adjacent to the Bar would be a factor leading us to come back again. With many seafood cafes and restaurants to choose from, however, the Bar and food alone might not...
Read moreJust wanted to let you know, let you "all" know, I was at your place last Sunday 8, Feb. From about 1-5 with some friends and everything from the hostess to the drinks, food, location etc.. was phenomenal. The food , and we had a lot, was perfect. We had the salmon, snow crabs, oysters, steamed shrimp, fish dip, mahi sandwich, and more and it was all amazing. But the highlight of the day was your staff from beginning to end and inside the market as well, nothing but perfection which is next to impossible to pull off! The star of that group however has to be Cassandra, one of the best waitresses we have ever had, you should cherish her for sure! And no we don't know her or have any prior interaction with her, she is just that good! And as a side note, the friends I had with me own a large restaurant/bar in Brandon and they were more impressed than I was! So keep up the good work, as a local and a native I can tell you it has been a long time since we've had the quality around the Tampa area that ya'll are providing! Thanks again for providing us with such a...
