Buyer beware! Graduate and maintained one of the highest GPA at the school...that being said stay away, they(anyone except instructors) could care less. Money motivates the "school", here is an example. The class or cohort I was in more often then not had issues when it came to passing test, the fix, grade on a curve, which is ok as long as it is done fairly across the board, I made a 98 on a cumulative test, they awarded 30pts to keep the rest of my class/cohort/fellow utica students from FAILING(loss of school income). Out of that 30 points awarded I was only able to get 2 points, I was told above 100 was against school policy, I querying this an email sent to an individual named, Pawloski. I of course never got a response. This is important to know because of the way their grading system works, a 4.0 is unattainable at Utica! I graduated around mid December and the school is holding us hostage to our future by not turning over to the state, our transcript so that we could be eligible for SIT pass(nursing board). Again I've made contact with the school regarding this as other schools would not take 12 weeks after graduation to let students continue on with their lives. Again no rhyme or reason, just lack of care(although popular opion among graduates, is the school has to maintain a certain pass rate for the state to allow them to be accredited, so they hold them). When we first went to an orientation or "THE BIG SELL" another individual named Payrot assured us all of the negative reviews were old and the school had made hugh changes, apparently, Mr Payrot has a lack of concept on technology(I looked them up, then and there, and found his statement to be at the very least, false). I have a prior BA from a state university, so I felt while the program lacked in SO many ways, I could complete it and did not want to wait for another school program to start. I've decide to give this program a 1 star as the 5 star rating(s) are clearly fake, so why haven't droves of students come forward to express the same? Simple answer, no one wants to tell people "their" school is bad, this gets to employers making it less likely to be a candidate for hire ie, Havard law vs Silly Clowns school of law! With this in mind if this is your ONLY choice, find another career!!!! To the school: save your time and do not reply as tho you care, you were given many chances to right your wrongs and choose to do otherwise, doing so now would be under duress, not because it is the right thing to do:)

Read moreI wish I could give this school negative stars. PLEASE do not look into this school. Save yourself the TIME, EFFORT, and MONEY and stay away from here. I have had the most difficult time with the administration office. I was told my application was in review and that I would hear within a week if I was accepted. A month passed, and so I emailed and called, trying to check on my application and was continuously ignored. Finally I was able to get a hold of my advisor, and she told me my application wasn't even in review yet. Not only that, she also told me that one of my courses that she "thought" was transferrable, wasn't. I HAD SUBMITTED MY APPLICATION OVER A MONTH AGO and now they are telling me one of my prerequisites won't transfer??? I was then asked to take a class online.... What kind of school does that?!?!?!! I purchased the class thinking it would be worth it, as long as I was accepted and could just start the damn program. So at that point I was told as long as I provided proof of enrollment of that one stupid class, my application could finally be reviewed. Sent the proof of enrollment and waited and waited. Another 2 weeks passed... - STILL NOTHING!!! I have multiple unanswered emails and have left administration voicemails that have not been returned. I am being flat out ignored. I have wasted over $2,000 fulfilling this school's prerequisite requirements, and now I'm starting to see that they have completely fooled me. I am so upset with how I have been treated, this should not be an accredited school it is unorganized, unethical, and flat out a rip off - I haven't even gone here and my money has been stolen!!
I asked for an academic calendar from my advisor - never received one. Apparently they don't even have an academic calendar. I moved across the country and planned my life around this school because my advisor told me I was definitely accepted... I have been in contact with her since July, and now it is February 4th, and I still have not heard back. I have been constantly manipulated by this school but now I am putting my foot down and looking elsewhere. This school has absolutely no structure or heart - both qualities that a nursing school MUST have -...
Read moreI would ignore the positive reviews. Any place. This school is wicked expensive A, and B, you teach yourself the entire time. For the price, it isn't worth it. I feel as though I'm intelligent, but was made out to feel stupid here. I was told to forget everything I know and it "was impossible to actually do any IV therapy as an EMT." My experience was written off like a joke and a professor said that I might have a hard time because of what I know. Why wouldn't the school teach around experience as well? They're slow to achieve lab checkoffs and waste valuable time with crossword puzzles instead of a lecture. There are NO lectures. Not even online. The pathophysiology course is a joke too. There are no study meaningful study guides or outlines to guide yourself. The book is dense and the midterms and finals are dense. For the regular classes, I felt unprepared for each exam and was not sure what would be on the tests. They act like everyone is a cheater, and believe me, a lot of the students are. The clinicals are fun... but that's about it. STAY away if you want format, structure, or any kind of understanding. If you want to be a great nurse, this is NOT your spot. When students quit, the faculty complain that the students didn't communicate or listen. It's never the staff's fault. Prof Householder, nice guy, but shouldn't be teaching. I will not be returning for semester 2 and will be starting at Galen. Go VISIT BOTH SCHOOLS. Galen and Utica are...
