McCall's and Son' Restaurant — Restaurant in Saint Petersburg

I work all night overnight in Gulfport and have done so for over a year now. McCall's and Son Restaurant is the thing I look forward to every morning. The fellas are professional and serves good, quality food at affordable prices. The bacon is crisp, the pork chops are to die for, and the potato blend is delicious. A mentee of mine tried the catfish and he was done eating them before we even left out the door! 😂 The grits and eggs aren't salted much, or at all, which in my opinion is great for our community because too many of us are gone too soon from high blood pressure and hyper tension. As a seasoned food enthusiast, I have to say this experience was profoundly disappointing. The grits arrived stone cold and unforgivably hard—completely inedible. The two orders of bacon we requested? They came in a styrofoam container as little more than cold, crumbly scraps. Unacceptable by any standard.

The smoked sausage fared no better; it was so overcooked it could double as a doorstop. And to add insult to injury, a single 4-inch sausage link was halved, with only one piece included. Really, McCall and Sons?

Ordered a link sausage breakfast, French toast and grilled potatoes via instacart/uber this morning about 11:15AM. Order delivered promptly around 11:40AM. Food was hot, very tasty. Great sausages and French toast. What kept me for rating them five star is they failed to include the grilled potatoes. Not major, but a bit aggravating. A simple 3 item order and you forgot.
