Ichiban Hibachi Express Fort Leonard Wood — Restaurant in Saint Robert

Unfortunately this place was not good. This was a shock to me as the restaurant off base is amazingly delicious! However, on base, the food is of lesser quality and not pleasing to the pallet. There was very little flavor to the chicken, steak and noodles. The chicken was bland and coated in a semi-sweet glaze. The steak was also coated in the same glaze and the customer doesn’t have the option to get the steak cooked to order (medium, rare, etc.) Instead it is more like a fast food restaurant with pre-made food. The noodles also lacked flavor and were skinnier (think spaghetti). If you are in the mood for hibachi, I do NOT recommend on base. The Ichiban in St. Robert serves fresh, flavorful, and succulent protein, with complementing noodles and rice. Moreover, combo meals come with a side salad, and soup, and offers ginger sauce in addition to the yum yum sauce. Had a great time at the hibachi grill! The chefs were entertaining and skilled, making the whole meal a fun, interactive experience. The food was fresh and flavorful—especially the steak and shrimp, which were cooked perfectly. Portions were generous, and the fried rice was a favorite at the table.

The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively without being too loud. If you’re looking for a place that combines good food with a little show, this spot definitely delivers.

Only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that the wait was a little longer than expected, but it was worth it in the end....
