Lake's Chicken Fry — Restaurant in Saint Thomas

What an amazingly good place. I was looking for a local place to eat and stopped at random. I was the only non local in the place. The staff was patient with my many questions as they don't even have a menu. They have chicken by the piece, fried fish, shrimp, and fries when I was there. I got a chicken wing, fried fish, and fries. I got a Malta India to drink and was warned about the unusual flavor (malt barley syrup). The soda was quite good as I know and love that flavor (NYC style bagels). The chicken was perfectly fried and the fish was amazing as well. A thin batter and cooked exactly enough to be tender.

They also have the local drink if you really want to experiment. The pepper sauce is bright, fruity, and will burn your head off. In other words, about perfect.

I'm writing this review as a grateful visitor to the island, who found myself in need of food after Tropical Storm Ernesto passed through. I was amazed to find Lake's Chicken Fry open for business, despite the challenging circumstances.

Lakes Chicken Fry is a must-visit for anyone craving flavorful, delicious food. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home.
