Kast Iron Soda Works — Restaurant in Salem

This place is awesome. Very friendly staff, incredible selection of products, and house made sodas and floats that can lift up anybodys day. I seriously advise anyone with a bad mood to try a float here, and leave frowning. it's an impossibility.

I've brought friends here, a girlfriend here, nobody has ever left disappointed. There's a variety of soda and ice cream based things that can weirdly, and I mean this sincerely, fit all appetites. As long as that appetite includes sugar. (Although they have sugar free options aplenty here!!!)

There are various ways that you can enjoy the sodas, with shot games to bamboozle your friends with a ranch based drink, or flights to try the more yummy sodas among them.

There's a big space offered with a bar, and plenty of room to sit at a booth or a table with a larger party and play any of the many board or card games Kast Iron has for you to play.

It's an incredibly unique place, one that I wasn't sold on until I went, and now anytime I'm in Salem I have the urge to visit here with a friend and see if there's any new sodas in.

I've met who I believe is the owner a few times, and she's been clear in demonstrating her passion and love for what she's doing here in Salem. That passion extends to a very knowledgeable team, ready to recommend you a variety of things that you'll magically enjoy.

This is a one of a kind place that's given me and my buddies some special memories, and a place to go when plans run dry. It feels almost like our third place, an extension of home, which is weird considering how rarely it is I make it in there.

One of the best places to visit in Ohio! Tucked away in the quaint town of Salem Kast Iron Soda Works delivers on being a wonderful mix of historic soda jerk shop and modern hipster hangout. With hundreds of soda selections, floats, and ice-creams to choose from you can mix & match to your little heart's desire.

Spend your time drinking their amazing beverages at the bar, or in one of the many lounge couches/chairs scattered around the rustic parlor. Unwind playing one of the board games they offer for their customers, or enjoy a great conversation with their easy going staff.

My handmade rootbeer float was made by a very knowledgeable young man who knew about every soda in there and exactly how they tasted. While I sat their drinking one of the best floats I've ever had I experienced a smooth and effortless conversation with a young lady who worked there talking about traveling and countries we visited all over the world.

I'm honestly not sure if I was there 10 minutes, or an hour, as time seemed to be unhurried inside their soda parlor. There was no rush to pay, or get up and leave, as there are with most businesses. Instead the staff and environment was well suited to make you feel like family. It was easily one of the most relaxing times I've had inside a business in a very long time.
