B B Rooners — Restaurant in Salem

Have usually had a good experience here but this time was drastically different. Took forever for the server to come to our table, then took our drink order. Came back ready to get our food order 10 mins later without bringing drinks. Got our food order in with our drinks and our first pitcher came out just before our food finally did. The pitcher was extremely small and the service was slow. Food was overcooked and misplaced ordered. One member of our group got chips instead of fries and she got no cheese or mayo as per the order. The pitcher sat empty for 15 minutes before the server realized our table was due for a round. He finally came by after talking to his co workers and got us another pitcher and never paid attention to our group member who was drinking tea. The entire night she never was offered or got a refill on her tea. Overall not pleased with our experience at BB’s tonight and may have to reconsider where we come into town next. Also currently have been sitting with no drinks empty food plates waiting on our check for over 20 minutes as he continues to socialize with coworkers instead of paying attention to his paying customers… another waitress Zoey even offered her help more than our own waiter...

Ordered the $10 Panko Fish sandwich with fries. Requested no cheese or sauce, just the fish and bacon only. Got the order and the sandwich had everything. Repeated twice to the waitress just fish with bacon only and sent it back. Got the second order and it still had the sauce and didn’t get any fries. Told waitress to just cancel my order since my husband was already done eating. When she brought out bill, waitress told me to just order the regular menu fish and add bacon to it next time which I’m sure would cost more than the price of the special. I was pretty nice up until that. Not now. Guess her mistake taking my order three times repeated was now my mistake! Did t even offer a comp or anything. Just basically it was my fault on how I ordered! Bacon only. How hard is that! We’ll stick with Mikes...

This place has not changed since I was a little girl!! Haha, I loved walking in it again after 20 years and seeing it unchanged. The food has gotten better, though, in my opinion! The only thing I was disappointed in was the taste of the Ranch Wings. Most places use a powdered ranch on them and it makes them very flavourful, but they only used dressing and they barely had any flavor. The hushpuppies are fantastic, potato skins were cooked perfectly, the fried pickles had a great batter (and I've lived in the south for 17 years now, so I know some good fried pickles!), and that pretzel was to die for!! I wanted to put that beer cheese all over my face, it was so delicious! I'm very happy that BB Rooners is still there and has the aesthetic of a true hometown...
