Funny story, my family of five is from Atwater/Randolph area. We take a family trip to a different interesting place every weekend. We always include lunch. For the past year, every place we went that wasn’t a chain restaurant, made someone ill or it was awful. So we had abandoned the “unknown to us” restaurants for quite some time.
Today we had gone to the beehive coke ovens in Leetonia. I was googling a restaurant close by and came across pictures for Coaches. We abandoned our chain only rule and headed to this gem of a spot!
First off it’s so very charming. Everyone is so friendly! The menu is large and varied but not overwhelming. All five of us got burgers and fries, blue burger, Texas burger and a cheese burger.
Our waitress brought our burgers out and I promptly spilled a Pepsi all over the table and was just about in tears, I felt so bad. Anyway, once the cola mess was cleaned up we all took big bites of our burgers and were blown away!!!!!
We decided, Coaches and my toddler spill accident broke our curse! Maybe we can stop avoiding new to us restaurants! We will make the trip back often for this amazing spot, only next time, we’re bringing more people!
Great job, folks! All the way around… food, atmosphere, staff, choices, cleanliness, quality, promptness, and price! This place has the magic combination! Keep up the outstanding work! I’m so sorry about the messy spill, thank you all for taking such great...
Read moreWas skeptical it might be a bar, but the whole family was pleasantly surprised! Friendly service, tasty food, and a laid back atmosphere.
The Buffalo Chicken Dip appetizer was flavorful and was consumed quite quickly by our starving little family. Even the two-year-old couldn’t get enough.
The Green Burger was delicious, with a nice spice/sweet flavor and a unique texture on the toppings. The Pittsburger had cold slaw and fries on it, but was pretty bland; almost as tasteless as Pittsburg itself! In all seriousness though, it sounded novel, but fell short.
My wife was excited about what she dubbed “Fair Fries” and ate them with malt vinegar. I paid the up charge for loaded fries, but they were actually better plain.
The kids split the Mac’n’Cheese, which was a pretty generous portion and came with fries.
We topped it off with the queen mother of all desserts; the Cinnamon Toast Crunch shake (the shake of the month). The shake itself was pretty good, but the mountains of whipped cream, cinnamon roll, donut, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch plastered to the side of the glass with icing really made for an impressive presentation and hyper kids.
10/10 would go back when in the area, although beware that the restrooms seemed a little...
Read moreI eat here pretty often and have had a range of decent service to not so great experiences. This week, I was at the restaurant twice, once at dinner time and the other before the dinner rush had started. We had different waiters but had bad experiences both times. It took maybe 30 minutes or so before we had even placed our dinner orders after sitting down. All of us at the table had empty cups for most of the meal. On the first occasion, our waiter started to walk away quickly and when we asked for refills, it appeared to be an annoyance. The other time, there wasn’t even an opportunity to ask. We hadn’t seen the waiter the entire meal before they came to the table, asked if we needed a box and about the checks and left. It felt like we were a nuisance, and they were just ready for us to leave. I can understand if a restaurant is busy, you may not want people sitting there for hours and hours, but we had maybe been at the table for 45 min - hour from the time we sat down. I really did enjoy coming to this restaurant on the times where we had good service and overall I thought the food was decent . After being made to feel like it was a bother for us to be at a restaurant to order food, we will not be...
