Loring Ave - Jaho Coffee Roaster & Wine Bar — Restaurant in Salem

Was trying to find vegan donuts. So, I called asked and was told that yes they do have vegan donuts and "they come in the following flavors..." Ended up driving to both the loring location and canal location to find out they don't have vegan donuts. Ended up getting some coffees and donuts for the non-vegans. Not going to lie the donuts were really good, but the coffee was okay and ended up making me and my SO feel queasy after drinking half of it. Customer service was atrocious at the canal st location as they directed me to order on a tablet where it was impossible to order donuts (or very difficult and my tech skills failed me). When I actually talked to the people at the canal st location they were unhelpful and short in their responses. Jaho has been a great place to get coffee for such a long time that it is a shame to see...

Love the atmosphere, but don't get the pizza sandwich. It lacks flavor, and is literally a soggy piece of bread with pasta sauce and blande mozzarella cheese on it with a tiny drizzle of pesto. Will try the donuts and spinach pie, but the pizza sandwich at over 12 dollars is something a poor, high college kid would make when all they have is a loaf of bread, cheese and pasta sauce. Completely out of place for a place trying to be an upscale eatery. Gross, wouldn't eat again.

Edit: Without emailing the manager, I just tried the spinach pie, which was fantastic, took forever and Still overpriced, like everything these days. But do NOT get the pizza sandwich. It is completely out of place for any restaurant trying to target an upscale...

Way overpriced coffee and drinks. Food is mediocre at best. They make Starbucks look like a cheap place. They kick you out the door if you don’t buy anything. This location is doomed to fail being next to a college campus and being next to the projects. It would work better someplace like Boston or Assembly Row. I’d rather go literally anywhere else for coffee and a pastry and spend less. In addition you have to PAY QUARTERS to use the bathroom!!!! That should be illegal!! There’s a reason it’s never busy here. Definitely will never return or recommend to anyone. I hate this place. Worst...
