đ¨EDIT Changing to a 1 star review after the owners reply:
Who was I to present them to? They also occurred at different times of my entire stay, I wasnât going to keep calling or texting for help.
Yes, you did call me multiple times to get ahold of me for check in on the 27th specifically at 7:28 in the morning (I have all the call log proof too) I didnât answer because I was sleeping, my deepest apologies after working 48 hours in an operating room.
I booked through my credit card company, that is correct. Which had a promotion on your âhotelâ. Iâm sorry it was a lot of âdiligent workâ for your staff to place a single vase of flowers in my room.
My room was 69 degrees according to the thermostat and it was a ripe 52 degrees while I was in Salem not to mention the temperature drop during the night. Itâs October in New England, who are you trying to convince?
I would like to make it crystal clear that I was in fact told by an officer (there were 3 in total) to please wait downstairs while they were arresting a man. Their words, not mine. Whether they arrested him or not clearly wasnât my business. I also have video proof of that taking place at your facility. Either way, inappropriate to try and downplay what occurred when itâs the truth and I have pictures of it.
đ¨Previous reply I want to give this place 3.5 star review
First and foremost the rooms, entry ways, hallways are all decorated beautifully and well kept.
I was not initially aware that this place did not have staff on site (my bad for not researching enough) so this was different. I knew I was arriving before check in, so I did call and ask if it would be okay to utilize the parking and they were very nice and said yes and also offered to keep our bags if needed while waiting for check in - however when I first arrived (4 hour drive from home) there was 0 way for me to enter the property as you need a code and do not get the code until you are allowed to check in so that was kind of a bummer. It would have been nice to use a restroom and drop the bags off like offered, but no such luck.
This room was almost $1200 for 1 night in a queen bed. VERY OVERPRICED. I stayed 10/27 so prime Halloween time (Sunday so everything was closed by 9) but $1200 for 1 night in a queen room is absolutely ridiculous and just taking advantage of people. Especially when the facility is essentially a self serve facility.
The room was nice but cold, the thermostat had VERY strict instructions to not touch or adjust the heat pump off ac and not allowed to turn it onto heat. I was confused by that and didnât want to mess with it so I called the on call number and they told me to adjust it to heat, when I read the instructions to them, they said never mind, use the space heater in the closet. I just felt that was very âunâ $1200 room of them. The building is old and cold. Using a space heater felt very $120 night stay. Crusty options honestly.
My room was located on the 3rd floor, carrying our belongings and bags up there was very annoying as there were 4? I believe flights of stairs. Not to mention the front door slams SO loudly it will even shake and make noise in your room even on the 3rd floor.
The place is a 25 minute walk to all Salem attractions, so youâll either walk in the cold long distances, have to drive into town and pay $30+ for parking, or pay for Ubers every trip.
When I had gotten back to the property Sunday night late there was a gentleman across the room from ours being arrested and I was asked by the police to give them some space so I had to sit on the stairs and wait for them to finish their investigation before I could go into my room
Then next morning I was packing my car and the housekeeper kept asking me what room even though I had told her I was not finished with the room yet. And I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful photo opportunity they created on the 2nd floor but couldnât because housekeeping had all their belongings all over the floor and bench so there wasnât anywhere to take the picture with the backdrop...

Read moreMy husband and I live in Vermont and we wanted to visit Salem, so we booked a room at the Coach House Inn. We planned on bringing our 4 month old daughter with us. We booked a room for two people, since there would only be two of us sleeping in a bed. After driving 5 hours, we showed up to the Coach House Inn with our daughter and the woman stated that we could not stay because we had a third person with us and we booked the room for two people. My husband and I told her that we had a portable crib for our daughter and she still refused to let us stay. We offered to pay more for another room and she still refused. She then began to tell us that she does not accomodate for babies and that no bed and breakfasts accomodate for children at all. It states no where on her site that children are not aloud. She told my husband that she would be keeping our money unless someone stayed in our room that night. No one stayed in the room, so we got charged $170 for a room we were not aloud to stay in because we had a baby with us. My mother tried calling this woman to reason with her while my husband and I drove around looking for a place to stay. The woman argued with my mother and told her that she wasn't going to "speculate" with her about whether she told us to leave because we had a baby or not. We ended up having to book a room in a hotel outside of Salem. A couple days later, my friend called her posing to be a customer and asked if she could stay that weekend, but when the woman asked my friend how many people and she said herself and a baby, the woman said no. My friend asked her when the next weekend available would be and the woman put her on hold and never came back...
