Reasons you should visit minzu sushi 1. Excellent staff - The people there are very warm and welcoming, which makes eating there much more pleasant. The chef seems truly passionate about his art and will sometimes even offer recommendations if you aren't sure what to get. 2. Authentic environment - The place may be smaller than you'd expect, but that's what makes it realistic. Original sushi restaurants in Japan usually have a few seats in their restaurant. This is to ensure that only the freshest food is brought to the customer at a reasonable speed. 3. Flavorful food - The reason you've been waiting for. The food here tastes great. You can tell that the food is freshly made when you taste it. I recommend the Pink Lady and the fried gyoza.

Minzu's Salem Maki is my favorite. Period. I'm no food expert but I know what I like and I know yummy when I taste it. The flavors are right. The textures compliment each other extremely well. Each ingredient is it's own perfect temperature and still one does not outshine another. Refresh my palate or finish off with the white (pink is for amatures) pickled ginger. It is umami. I also really like the Dynamite roll, Crazy Maki and Dragon Maki. Accurate (I like extra sauce on everything), pleasant service. If you're going to do something, do it well. Minzu does it well.

Grateful they took our order for delivery close to their closing time. Quick and delicious rolls. Maki weren't overstuffed w rice. The rolls were reasonably priced but not very long either. We ordered an extra just in case and that was the right amount. V good!

The food is good, but I'm kind of done ordering from them. Ordered food at 7:25pm. They said it'd be delivered at 8:35pm. 70 minutes is a long time to wait, but whatever. 8:45 rolls around and the food has not arrived. Call the store and they say the delivery driver is just getting back from a run and my food will be there within 15 minutes. 20 minutes later, no food. Call the store again. They say the driver is out and food will be there in 5 minutes. The food arrived almost 15 minutes after that. All said and done, it took just under 2 hours to get a relatively small order delivered on a Tuesday night. This is far from the first time I've had an experience like this with Minzu. I don't mind waiting for food, but I don't like when...

Maybe I got a different chef or something (considering all the great reviews here and elsewhere), but Minzu served me some of the worst and blandest sushi I've ever had. The rice was completely plain, there was no wasabi on my nigiri (not a deal breaker), and the fish was either so dry or so chewy that I had trouble finishing it. It is affordable, the miso soup was good, and they are very, very friendly. I've been to every sushi place on the North shore, most in Boston, and dozens upon dozens all over the country, and this was the worst quality nigiri and fish...
