I used to love this place. Was a family favorite. Last couple times I've been have been ok. Went on a Tuesday morning, no wait, no rush with tables open. For some reason even tho they weren't closing, was only 10am, the waitress seemed to not want to be there and seemed to not want us there. Figure bad day, ok. What I always loved about them besides the great service was their use of fresh ingredients. I ordered a 3 egg veggie scramble. Got what appeared to be a 1.5 egg scramble . Also looked like some or the veggies were either canned or pre cooked. Anyways , 4 out of the 4 of us walked out hungry, $75 for breakfast. Ask to purchase loaf of their tea bread to go. Bag stapled shut, but felt light. With the way waitress was going I decide to check. Yeah, not a loaf but just 2 small slices that were buttered and fried . Irritated after a $75 breakfast I'm still hungry from. I question the waitress and am immediately blamed for ordering wrong thing and "well that's all she billed me for" so she can fix but has to charge more. I didn't care about the $2 ( just spent 75, whats another couple) Anyways, unhappy waitress , smaller portions than ever before for more money, not fresh ingredients. I never review places like this good or bad. I am just disappointed that what used to be consistently awesome all around place has become...
Read moreFood is good. Be careful of things you might add on to your food. A side of strawberries for French toast was $4.50. When we got the bill we asked the manager to confirm that was correct. Her response with a smile and nod was, "Yes, fresh fruit is expensive ". It was about 3 strawberries sliced up and macerated. Looking at what I ordered was a poached egg on an English muffin with Hollandaise Sauce was $3.65. My husband and I thought that was a steep price for strawberries. Another item I looked up on the menu was their Veggie Benedict. This is $8.65, and it comes with a cup of fresh fruit. I find it hard to believe the breakfast would only cost half that and the other half of that price is the tiny cup of fresh fruit. I also found that when I went there in the past, homefries and other things were cooked somewhere different from the meat. Being a vegetarian I was happy because it opened up a lot of choices. This time, I found everything is cooked on the same grill, so my choices were limited. My husband ordered an omelet and he likes it, however homemade corned beef hash would have made it better. I feel the manager could have acted like she cared better about the ridiculous pricing for a few strawberries, they...
Read moreI ate here for the first time on Tuesday. The food was outstanding and did not disappoint. I wish there was a Maddies in Nashua! Great portions, fresh ingredients and all cooked to perfection. The tea was heavenly and the service was top notch. Great job Maddies! UPDATED REVIEW on next visit.:12-13-2018 I returned for breakfast with my son on his Birthday. This place is only open till 2 and known for breakfast. We arrived at 11:10. Even after explaining I was trying to treat my son for his Birthday they couldn't have cared less. Thanks to Google we found Sammy J's. The food there was phenomenal as was the service. Thank you for turning us away Maddies. We wouldn't have found the treasure that Sammy J's is. At first I was terribly disappointed but everything happens for a reason. The food at Sammy J's was priced way more reasonably, the food was outstanding, the service at Sammy J's was prompt, courteous, kind and exceptional. My son and I both ate very well at Sammy J's for what it cost me when I went to Maddies alone. Your loss was Sammy J's gain! What kind of breakfast place stops...
