I’ll drive 1 hour away 2 to 4 times a year to go to my favorite Asian restaurant in Salem, OR. I have come here for my birthday too! I am gluten free, they have a gluten free menu that includes items in every category dish, including appetizers & dessert. On their menu, you will find Asian, European, Vegetarian and gluten-free categories. They also serve wine and hard liquor. The ambience is wonderful. You can pick either window bench seats, or one of the several large tables or sit in a darkened room or sit along the bar. The restaurant is situated along Pringle Park, which has a water way through, you can take a delightful walk or sit on a bench. Or just enjoy the view from the restaurant 🙃😉 My usual is the Kung Pao with brown rice and shrimp. As you can see in the picture it comes with lots of vegetables, just as I enjoy! My husband’s favorite is the fried rice and he doubles the meat portions. I also usually get a pot of jasmine tea that is about 2 1/2 cups. The food is delectable! Oh! Gluten-free food is served on round plates, whereas gluten food is served on square plates -> love this 💕! Best gluten allergy care I’ve ever been served!! at the end of your meal when they hand you your bill and you get a fortune cookie and if you’re gluten-free, you get a cookie too! 👏 I have been served well by every waitress/waiter we have had. And the price is right as well. What is there not to love? ☺️

I came here once 4yrs ago.... Then again just recently. The food quality was night and day difference. The food was great and the wine selection seemed better. The location is nice as it is situated near Pringle Park and the views from the window seats gives you a nic look around town and the park. There's something for everyone. Wide range of foods. Chinese to French preparation on a steak with a peppercorn cream sauce to fish and chips or a burger. Separate vegan and gluten free menu's. Food was great. The raspberry pistachio chicken, pepper steak, Mongolian beef all were delicious really. Artichoke dip appetizer was not your average. Quality cheese etc. The chicken pot stickers are huge. Only thing I wasn't happy with was the service. Needed a reservation for a half empty restraint. We were pressed to order our entre when we wanted to take our time have some drinks and appetizers. Server never checked in. Only when brining out the meals. Water was never filled and server was impersonal and rushed. While we recieved slow and limited attention. I'm going to chaulk that up to Long covid impact on a small business. So they may get one more try. Service is important to me. I would recomend with a caviot on service. 4/7/22.

It was mid-afternoon on a week day, so not very busy. One server who seated and served. She did her job well but didn't exceed expectations with friendliness or service. I really liked the view from our booth, but the restaurant inside is just ok/nice - has a bit of a older feel. Appetizers and drinks were delicious, as was my food (Pistachio raspberry chicken). But I was incredibly disappointed with the seasonal Vegan GF pineapple orange cake. It tasted like bitter birdseed (and I'm usually good with those flavors, and seeds). The frosting was ok though. I tried a few tiny bites to make sure, then set aside. Server was unapologetic about me not liking it, pretty much hinting it's fine so must be my taste buds. Other restaurants when there's been a problem with quality and expectation, will take it off the bill. But she didn't offer. All in all, not sure I'd go back but maybe I'll give a different dessert a second chance in the future. It is nice they offer many different cuisines, and l loved the appetizer combo plate.

We decided to make a "day after" Mother's Day visit to Marco Polo. An advantage of their menu is the wide variety, from Chinese to European and a mix of other items. My wife ordered the Spinach & Mozarella-stuffed Ravioli with Sauteed Shrimp in Alfredo Sauce. A negative: they initially forgot to bring out the shrimp, so we all sat and waited a good ten additional minutes after our food arrived before the shrimp followed. But this is a terrific dish (with all the components.) Really flavorful - their white sauce is excellent. I took advantage of the $6.95 specials and ordered Garlic Green beans with chicken. The flavors are great - my one complaint is the beans seemed a bit "hard" - like maybe they'd been in a freezer at some point, rather than absolutely fresh? I really am not sure, but the texture was just a bit off for a dish I've had many places. I won't order that one again. A friend came with us and she ordered the Chicken Fajitas. We tried the chicken and a criticism of it is that the primary spicing element seemed to be an abundance of chili powder coating the chicken. I'm not a fan of that. Some other glitches - this is an aesthetically "interesting" place - it looks nice and the view from our table overlooking the adjacent park is great. But the service here, in our two visits, has been iffy each time. This time, there was the shrimp issue. Plus, after giving us maybe 5 minutes to ponder the menu, our server returned. We weren't ready yet and asked her to come back in a bit. 15 minutes later, she still hadn't returned - and she never did! Someone else saw our plight and took our order, but remarked "I don't know where she went." We eventually saw her later, but it was as though she'd forgotten our table. About a year ago, we attempted to visit on a Wednesday night. After waiting maybe 30 minutes to get seated and another 30 minutes for our server to return to take our order (he never returned either!), we gave up and left. I'll give this another try at some point but the service issues really need to be dealt with before I could be a...

I've never had a better dining experience! Excellent and abundant selection of food to fit the tastes and preferences of omnivores, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Our group had a mix of all and everyone was ecstatically pleased and immensely satisfied with their dinner. The portions were generous and the prices more than fair for this level of quality food and service.

I could go on for several pages trying to describe the food. EVERYTHING was prepared and cooked to perfection. I would describe it as up to Gordon Ramsey standards. After spending a little time trying to decide on what we wanted for our entrees the appetizers arrived. The pacing was perfect. As the last of the scrumptious appetizers were consumed the entrees arrived simultaneously, hot and fresh.

The ambience and service were outstanding. Our server was warm and friendly and kept our water and other beverages refilled, checked to see if we needed anything and one of the owners, Jackie Chung also came by twice to make sure everything was good and up to expectations.

A lot of restaurants have standard dessert items as a traditional afterthought to the meal but Marco Polo treats dessert as the finishing third chorus to a full symphonic culinary experience and have unique and special items to choose from and even a section of new choices. I had the Mango Mousse Cake. It was indescribable delicious and a perfect taste bud orgasmic climax to an astonishing meal.

It was definitely worth the 60 mile drive from our home in Eugene Oregon to Salem Oregon to experience the diners delight of The Marco Polo Global Restaurant. (I'm wishing right now that I had gotten an extra order of the Mango mousse Cake to go...
