The bone-in chicken wings we ordered today via telephone from the Salem, Ohio online menu and then picked up in-store were dangerously undercooked. Foodborne illness undercooked. Our milkshakes were icy and tasteless. We were overcharged 20% for our food.
When confronted with these facts the shift supervisor I spoke to suggested we call the store manager in the evening for resolution, or we could drive the food back to her store to be recooked. I declined—they’re miles away from our home. I’m unavailable to call the store manager this evening.
I asked why we were being charged $19.99 for wings when their online menu price was $15.79? I also asked why my husband wasn’t made aware of the higher price when he ordered over the telephone and then again when our credit card was charged and finally when he went to pick up the order? We effectively entered a contract at this point and their restaurant was operating a bait-and-switch scam in my estimation. I reminded the shift supervisor their receipts are not itemized.
Her explanation for all of this was that I was mistaken and the increase in price was indeed reflected on their online menu (no, shift supervisor was incorrect…I accidentally downloaded the menu before ordering). She further explained their restaurant and many others are now charging market value prices for chicken wings. I said these facts are all well and fine, but their online menu needs to reflect this so that the consumer can then ask what the current market value is…much like the way it is done for lobster in most every restaurant. Their restaurant shouldn’t be able to arbitrarily and deceptively charge any old price for their wings without informing the consumer.
I honestly believe the situation we experienced today is an attempt to deceive on the part of Quaker Steak & Lube. I asked for our money back (53.98 for two small orders of wings and two milkshakes) as we threw out the unsafe food. I was told "no" by the shift supervisor.
Before you order, please be aware that this restaurant is not concerned with how their food is turned out to the public. Know, too, they’re deceptive in their pricing practices. Best Wings USA? Not today. Avoid at all costs.

Read moreI ordered online for pickup so that my order would be ready in time for the 1pm Steelers game. A dozen boneless, a bone- in single, and an order of the loaded magna fries. Total with a tip(although why I gave a tip when no one bothered to even check the food) was $50. Upon arriving home, I discover my bone in wings were shorted by 5, and my “loaded” magna fries were loaded on about a 1/4 of them, lukewarm, and the cheese was barely melted. I called to address the issue and Cheryl (spelling?) got the issue fixed with the wings and did absolutely nothing about my lukewarm fries.
If you order takeout l, check your order before you leave, because clearly no one there can be bothered to make sure it’s correct even when you tip them for less than 30 seconds of work.
Summary: Unacceptable service and unacceptable remedies to problems that are brought to their attention. I won’t eat or order...
Read moreWould do a zero if I could. Allergic to onions and no where does it state there are onions in the quesadilla. I told the waitress that had they listed onions I never would have ordered it. She had nothing to say and took off went to kitchen and stayed. Finally brought check and said there are no onions in it. The waitress Danielle stated she was not going to argue but yet she did. She acted like I have no idea what a onion is or smells like even brought a cup of not sure what to prove her point and continue to argue will not go back. I also mentioned it to who looked liked manager and she did not care it made them mad. No customer service or caring about customers. They should be happy I realized that before I ate it because they would have just stood there and argue figure out what your putting...
