Raquel's Restaurant & Catering — Restaurant in Salem

This place is a gem! Much of their menu is made in house and made to order. Manager and wait staff let us know this, as we had never been there before. I liked this because I tend to chose items that are made in house and loved that about their menu.

I got the chicken Cordon Bleu which was delicious. Handmade, with a crispy crust, ham and swiss center and bright lemon sauce. The baked potato was huge. The house salad and homemade ranch was delicious. My partner got the fried chicken with bourbon butter. The chicken was hand tenderized and hand breaded. Was told steaks are also cut and prepared in house. Wish I had had the appetite to try one of the bigger steaks.

The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The manager came and checked on us several times as well. The restaurant was clean with a nice atmosphere.

Overall, great experience. I would highly recommend if you're looking for quality food at a reasonable price. We will be back next time...

Today was our first dining experience at Raquel's. It is situated on the square in Salem and is so super cozy! Such an amazing atmosphere for starters ! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and escorted to our table. I had made reservations late the night before and they had our table ready with a high chair. Today was their all you can eat brunch buffet! Let me tell you the food was beyond tasty! It was some of the best food we have ever eaten ! Not only breakfast items but lunch items with a salad bar and dessert bar ! Kiddos 0-3 eat free and both of my nieces absolutely loved the chocolate chip pancakes! Everything was presented beautifully! The staff was so genuinely nice! The restrooms were super clean ! We will definitely be going back soon ! Grab your family and friends and take them...

Update: menu change? Breaded tenderloin and potato chips. All house made. It was killer awesome! Buffet resumes Sunday.

Very high quality food on the buffet. Not a super large variety, but its all good. Salad was very fresh with what I suspect were all house dressings. I had the balsamic dressing. It was killer! They still have the breakfast bar going too if that's what you prefer. Or, breakfast and lunch for one price! Oh, the interior is very nice. Table cloths and China plates, but not pretentious. Only complaint is that the staff are multitasking and some times you just have to flag someone down. I saw a nearby table go from content to grouchy because no one came by to offer them the check at the end...
