Bartenders were great. They were friendly, receptive, and knowledgeable. Beer selection is nice, with a couple of local craft beers on draft, as well as seltzers and a fully stocked bar with plenty of liquor. This really seemed like the highlight of the place.
The atmosphere is relaxed and there's some nice band decor and memorabilia, with guitars and framed platinum records on the walls. However, with all of the music-related stuff on the walls, you would think they'd book a band of some kind for a Friday night, but instead it just seemed really dead. Me and my partner stayed until around 10pm to see if the crowd would pick up, but it all just seemed like regulars. They have a patio area with a second bar, but nothing was going on out there either, with the outdoor lighting shut off, and most of the seating and tables not set up.
There is an arcade where they have pool tables, air hockey, skeeball, A punch-test machine, Big Buck Hunter, Cruis'n Exotica (or Cruis'n Word, I forget), Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga, and one pinball table (Stern's Rollercoaster Tycoon). It's not exactly what I'd call a "barcade" like they advertise it as on their website, and most of the games on their website were no longer there, but it's at least nice to have a few arcade games to play. There's also a NES classic and SNES classic system set up, but the NES wasn't working when we tried, and the controllers for the SNES felt pretty grimey, so me and my partner only played one game.
The food didn't seem like anything special. The pretzel bites I got were oily, leaving a puddle of oil under them which caused the cheese sauce to not stick very well to them. I was going to try their other food, but the poor quality of the appetizer put me off. If a bar can't even get simple bar food right, then the rest of their menu probably isn't great either. The prices seemed good, at least, with most appetizers being around $6, and most entrees being about $10 or less. Not sure about domestic beer, but a tall craft draft was only $7, and the night we went, they even had a $2 special for some seltzer cans they were trying to get rid of.
Overall, the atmosphere wasn't for me, so I probably won't be back, but it's still a decent bar with good prices. I would suggest passing over the food entirely, but if you're just looking for a cozy, quiet place to pop in and get a drink, you could...
Read moreThe food was not the best, the server had a lot going on behind the bar, like scrubbing out a dirty cooler while serving food. In my opinion, you shouldn't be doing such cleaning and scrubbing and serving food in between. At least have someone else not serving food do such heavy cleaning. Don't get me wrong she was very polite, she was just trying to do too many things at one time. She forgot some of our condiments, brought the wrong dipping sauce, my husband's ruben was OVERLOADED with saur kraut, he asked for light saur kraut, and had A SLICE of corned beef. I got a BLT wrap and only had bacon on the one half of the wrap. It would have been good if it would have been made with bacon on both sides. The dipping sauce for the house chips was supposed to be french onion and a kinda spicy, runny ranch was brought out. We didn't even bother complaining or trying to get her attention as we just wanted to eat what we did have, pay our bill and go. We try out a lot of different places to eat and sad to say this was one of the first time and last...
Read moreWe stopped for lunch on our way home to Pittsburgh. We picked it because of Google reviews and glad we did. The best chili I've had in a long time. We got the chili as an appetizer to dip homemade potato chips in. A big win for us. My wife's pizza was so good that we decided just to eat that and save my spicy Italian sandwich for home. The portions and cost were more then friendly. I waited until today to review, after eating my sandwich. The sandwich made me want to give them another star but Google only takes 5. The were very friendly with the Italian meats too. Very cool place to have some fun during lunch, great music, pinball, arcade, pool, air hockey, you name it. I will make it a point of anytime in the area we will stop. Very friendly workers too. 10 thumbs up. Thanks Kirk B. Baldwin,...
