My first experience with the Game Cafe was a special occasion...my daughter and her fiancé got married here! Owner Robin and her husband were both wonderful, opening two hours early on a Sunday and providing a welcoming venue for the very special event. The bachelor party was also held there the night before, and the men set up the venue for the next morning's festivities.

As far as gaming, the guests said that it was the most fun that they'd ever had at a wedding! The walls are filled with shelves and shelves of all manner of board games and there are plenty of tables and chairs for seating, as well as two side rooms which I imagine might be made available for groups, but I don't know if it's first-come-first-served or if the rooms can be reserved. Just ask them.

The food is REALLY good; so good that I'd go there just to have lunch and play solitaire by myself.

Everything is scratch-made! I had the Clam Chowder and it was excellent, rivaling any top-notch seafood house offering. The Caesar Salad was also very good. The Carnitas Tacos were wonderful, with the carnitas tender and perfectly seasoned. I wouldn't hesitate to try any item on their menu.

By all means, go and check out Ticket to Play Board Game Cafe. You'll be warmly welcomed and you'll have...

Very friendly atmosphere and awesome service. I really enjoyed how laid back the place is. Nobody is trying to hurry you, and you can sit and enjoy your company and pick out any game that you see on the shelves to play. If you love tea and good food, you should visit this place. There was a buffet of tea selections, and I'm talking about good quality loose leaf tea. I couldn't make up my mind, so I said, " surprise me." I love doing that sometimes just to try something new. The tea was amazing, so good to where I didn't need to add any sugar, honey, I just enjoyed the tea itself. The food was great! I'm actually very picky. I had the Cuban sandwich, and it was grilled perfectly, served hot off the grill, and I enjoyed every bite. Seriously, I was savoring every single bite. I was sad when I was done, lol. I had a cup of soup to go with it, Chilean Chicken soup so good, the broth was very flavorful, and it was served with fresh cilantro sprinkled on top. I was told their food is made from scratch, and I can tell. I admire the hard work put into the food and drinks they serve. No shortcuts made, and I can tell. I will definitely be back, this time with my kids, they will...

We came here for the first time today and it was awesome! We stayed for about 5 hours playing games. There are lots of great games to choose from and it’s a fun environment, family-friendly. It’s $5 per person to play all day. The playing tables are nice and big. There is a bathroom. The owners are a young couple with kids and they’re super friendly and personable. What exceeded my expectations was how good the food was! My husband got the Greek sandwich and I got the Veggie Delight sandwich and they were simple, but incredibly delicious! They have yummy soups and other great menu items. The menu isn’t huge, but they have good stuff. They also have lots of snacks you can buy like chips, candy, sodas, cookies, etc. This would be a great date night for a couple or more. I would definitely recommend coming here! We’ll be coming...

My husband had wanted to do something like this ourselves but this family is doing it pretty well already. We were excited to see a board game cafe already existed in Salem and are happy to support them! You can't bring your own food or drink, but the food and drink they have there are DELICIOUS and gives me the satisfaction of supporting a local board game joint. They have a punch card that gets you a percent off of games you purchase from them and a huge selection of games. Very nice place with pleasant people.

My son has been telling me about your place for years. I always thought it was about the games. My wife and I were passing through town (we live on the North Coast) and he invited us to join him for lunch at Ticket to Play. It was out of this world good. I'm not much for board games, but as a fellow entrepreneur (we have a jewelry store in Warrenton), I admire the creativity in combining board games and gourmet food. Only in America! God bless and keep up the good work. Jim Gannaway Owner - GB Jewelers
