I had a real nice time. My friend gave me a hair trim and we,"talked about the weather" and observed some trees, seeds and vegetation. There are plenty of benches to sit and contemplate or visit with a good friend and go on a walk. For me the bonus is, its right by my house and Winco, so the deli is a good place to go for picnic supplies or a quick lunch. I had a real nice time. I learned about the trees that lve there. For instance i didnt know pine nuts were so finicky about producing actual meat (or nut) and will only produce an actual nut if conditions specific to them, are favorable. Some dont produce a nut ever. Poor confused squirrels and blue jays. They also know without even picking a nut or seed up that its empty. Dont believe it ? Observe. And the blue jays will watch the squirrel hide their nuts and go dig them up when the squirrel leaves the area. Its kinda sad to watch the squirrels dig everywhere looking for a nut that is no longer where they put it. They must think they're losing their mind lol. I feel...
Read moreThis review will be separated into 2 different ratings as I feel it's an accurate way to dictate the overall value of the park and course. The disc golf course is honestly a 5 out of 5. There's 2 holes where you can really let loose and bomb, which is 16 and 17, and the rest vary between 180 and 280 feet, which are pretty technical. The course layout is wonderful and provides a challenging 18 holes that aren't physically demanding.
Now the other side.... the park side, which i give a 3.5 out of 5. When playing, there's a lot you have to look out for, such as a lot of people walking on the paths with their dogs and there's 2 specific holes ( 4 and 7 ) where you have to throw over the parking lot. Just accept the fact you'll hit a car and don't get too bent out of shape about it.
If you're looking for a fun course that allows more ace holes than I've ever seen on one course, and have it challenging.. make the stop here and...
Read moreLargish community park with restroom facilities, large parking lot, covered picnic area, picnic benches, playground, stream, football/soccer sized field, and a disc golf course tucked along it's small hiking route. It's a great park, but beware, lots of car campers utilize the area because of it's access to facilities and due to the fact that the parking lot is situated far enough away from the main road that their not a nuisance. That alone is the reason the park doesn't get a 5 star rating. To me it's a little sketch. The disc golf course is great. All par 3s and the baskets are situated close enough to the tees that you can realistically par a lot of the holes. I would caution that you use a spotter on a few of the holes that have tees situated on hills, because the brush WILL swallow your discs, and if you're not paying attention you'll never find them. All in all, though, a...
