Zico's — Restaurant in Salem

I can't say enough good stuff about Aly Baba. My wife and I went for the first time recently, and it's absolutely going to start being one of our favorite places to go.

The lamb shawarma was absolutely astounding. Great flavor, good portion size, delicious. Their tzatziki sauce is the best I've ever had.

The falafel pita that I had easily competed with some of the top-ranking falafel places that I've visited in Los Angeles, and Salem has no business having some of the best falafels in the 'States (but I'm glad that it does)!

But by far, where Aly Baba stood out the most was their pizza. Oh my goodness, the gyro pizza was absolutely astounding. The blend of cheeses they used was a perfect blend of pungent and mild, firm and soft. The crust was good enough that I could eat an entire pizza crust and be pleased with it: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and a delightful flavor with just a hint of sweetness to it to keep it enticing. And the sauce--I have no idea what sauce went on the gyro pizza, but it was garlicy and impeccable.
