I love Longwood but the people who go to this park are too suspicious. I was walking and doing exercise alone. I guess since I was alone some of the parents thought I looked suspicious. I noticed a man with his camera phone out walking following behind me as I walked near the playground area where kids were playing. I turned around and said hi to him and he returned a friendly "hello". But then he asked me "What are you doing"? I told him I was doing some exercise and he replied "Oh, really"? I said yes and he said "oh ok". It was only at that point did he stop following me.
Another time I was here and there was an event going on with tons of kids. I was doing exercise and a lady approached me and asked very directly "Why are you here alone"? I told her I was doing exercise and she turned away from me and walked away while giving me weird looks. Park goers here should be wary. You might be labeled a weirdo if you come here alone. It shouldn't be that way but some people are just suspicious, I guess. I hope by posting this people will see that i'm ok and not some weirdo. I'm a married man with a wonderful...
Read moreNice but this park is far too large. My child is a runner and there's nowhere fenced in for him to safely play. Everything is wide open and too stimulating. I enjoyed the book boxes and he loved the park. But sadly it would not be safe for us to come back because theres no way to contain your children within a safe perimeter. You have to stay right there with them and watch them. My mother had just had surgery and had no choice but to come with us to the park while we waited on her same day after surgery check up. It was impossible to make sure she was okay after walking all over the park, while watching my toddler. It was very hard on her. Won't be able to visit again. This park is not for little kids, regardless of whether the equipment is available. I would not bring little kids here and it will be a long time before...
Read moreI come to Longwood 3 times a week to walk/jog by myself. I prefer walking/jogging by myself because I can do it at my own pace. Love the park just don't like the nosiness/rudeness of some of the other park goers. On my last walk, I sat for about an hour just taking in the nice weather. Some guy walked up to me and asked me "You OK? You been sitting here for almost an hour.. need any help?" I told him I didn't need any help. He said he thought I looked weird siting there for so long. Why did someone feel the need to say that to me? Mind your own business please. I hope that person reads my review and realizes how rude that was to ask me such a question. I'm a regular here. Nothing weird about me sitting in the park by myself...
