Wowza. That’s all I can say. Unless someone said “you can say that again” and then I’d happily say “Wowza.” Now, why would you care that I of all people said Wowza? Allow me tell you a little about myself. I’ve been to a whole lot of Chick-fil-A’s in my time and eaten far more chicken than that. I’ve been living in the south for the last 17 years and I’ve been called a “foodie”, a “food influencer”, with some even going as far as to call me the “Amelia Earhart of Eating Chicken.” You can see my full portfolio @luttermaneats on Instagram.
Now that I’ve established my credibility aka the WHO, I’m sure you want to know the WHY of this review. Well, just like one bite through the crispy exterior of a chick-fil-a deluxe sandwich with pepper jack cheese into its fluffy, juicy, pickle-brined interior is all you need to know you’ve arrived at gods chosen chicken vendor, all you need is one word to understand why Salina’s Chick-fil-A is unrivaled: Tanner. Tanner, a dashing young fellow, took our order today and yet did so so much more. Sporting a sanguine hat and their signature cow spotted mask, Tanner elevated our visit from a simple poultry-motivated drive-by to an experience that my crew of satiated scalywags will carry with us far past our first glance into his piercing blue eyes. Through all of our relentless questions, pandering, pondering, ordering, and loitering, Tanner never failed to respond with a masked smile (those eyes seem never to have seen a frown) and a grizzled “my pleasure.” Folks, I cant make this one up. Tanner, if you’re reading this, Colorado is calling your name and I hope you can hear it. Shawn, if you’re reading this, we ask only three things of you. 1. Seek to see your son for the full potential he has, he’s a special one. 2. If you love him and he chooses to chase us to Colorado, you’ll let him go. Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same. 3. Please install a trash can outside, this earth is all of ours to take care of.
With love,
The...
Read moreI've been to many Chick-Fil-A restaurants and this is by far the worst I've experienced. The food is generally good, although the chicken nuggets were a bit overdone and not fresh on my last visit.
My biggest complaint about this location is the service. You don't get the typical Chick-Fil-A greeting and "my pleasure" when talking to the staff. The boys working behind the counter spend more time talking and messing around than tending to customers. On one visit a young worker stopped in the middle of my order to turn and talk with his friend about their evening plans. Before this 3 workers conversed while a line of customers waited to order. They finished their conversation and casually called the next person in line. I wish this was an exaggeration. One worker circling the dining room asking if everything was ok looked miserable to be there interacting with people. This is the norm here.
On my most recent visit I went for a drink refill and the young man behind the counter used my cup, that I had been drinking from, to scoop more ice! He spilled a bit of my soda into the fresh ice and kept going as if nothing happened. He then dug around in the ice with his bare hand to find the scoop to get ice for my son's cup that needed a refill. I spoke with the manager and she was very kind and said they would take care of it.
There are some workers at this location who are great, but there are many young people who have no customer service abilities and I am always dissapointed when I visit here. I live out of town so a trip to Salina usually means a trip to Chick-Fil-A, as it is my preferred fast food restaurant. But, I will be going elsewhere from now on. Hopefully the bad service is taken care of soon. It's embarrassing to have the Chick-Fil-A name associated with such poor quality...
Read moreOkay I don't usually give 3 star reviews unless the place truly deserves it, but I was so disappointed with the wait time here, I am hoping someone from management reads this and gets the team more organized. 1st, the food did not disappoint once I received my order, so there was no problem there! But when the drive through line and dine-in crowd gets food a lot faster than you do, although they were behind you when they ordered, you can understand me being vexed. I will admit, it was during a lunch rush and I will give that a consideration but when I show up with four guys, and two of my peers, who accidentally ordered dine-in instead of take-out receive their food 10 mins before me although they ordered after me.... Wth?! My order was small, two sandwiches and fries. I watched my bag of food sit on the counter for a least 4 mins before someone grabbed it to hand to me, adding time to the 27min wait from time of order to time in hand wait, and this is no exaggeration. I wish I had to timed it so I could screen-shot and I was post, maybe next time. This is unacceptable by any fast-food standard. Some of the workers looked or seemed new, so I can understand but they weren't being guided when they would have an idle moment and they didn't seem to have a clue on how to read the order screen and prioritize the ticket line. As I mentioned before, the food was great as always, the staff seemed friendly, but need direction a little more(in my own opinion) so that orders don't have to sit longer than they need. I do recommend going, but expect a bit of...
